Intimate caress shave cream - shaving foam by Kama Sutra - review by ~LaUr3n~

I use shaving gels a lot because I am OCD about being hairless. I'm always looking for one that will last longer and give me an even smoother shave. i was totally tempted by the delicious flavors of this new intimate shave cream by Kama Sutra. I like the pump bottle and the packaging in general. The amount in this bottle is also generous. I don't normally have a bottle this large, but other shave creams I have tried don't require as much cream per application as this one does.

The shaving cream can be used for any area of the body, but it is targeted for women and their genital areas. I prefer it for the genital area, but don't think it is actually better at any area. It claims to be ultra-rich and moisturizing, but I don't notice any improvement in that aspect either. It might smell good, but it doesn't last long and didn't impress me. I can say that it didn't sting and also didn't leave me with dry or irritated skin.

Ingredient details/breakdown:

Cetyl Alcohol is simply a thickening agent that has an interesting history. Before commercial whaling ended, it used to be derived from Sperm whale fatty oils. Now it comes from vegetables.

Stearyl Alcohol has a similar purpose as a thickener.

Panthenol is a skin moisturizer.

Sodium PCA and Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride are conditioning agents.

Cetrimonium Bromide is an antiseptic against bacteria in case you cut yourself.

Colloidal Oatmeal soothes rashes an irritation.

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Persea Gratissima (Avacado) Oil, and Tocopheryl Acetate soothes dry skin.

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil also replaces whale oil as a fungicide.

Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract is for flowery fragrance.

Hydrolyzed Soy Protein and Dimethicone are used for texturizing.

Steareth-21 is for anti-aging.

Sorbic Acid is an antimicrobial agent.

This is advertised as a creme. It is about the same consistency as a hair conditioner. It can even double as a lotion! It requires water to be used unlike other shave cremes I have. it is thick and spreads easily but doesn't go a long way. You need a lot of it. It does not lather at all.

The creme is a solid white color.

Intimate Caress comes in three scents: Pomegranate, Honeysuckle, and Coconut Pineapple. I chose the Coconut Pineapple because I love coconut. Unfortunatly, the pineapple totally overpowers the coconut smell. Sad face. I still liked the smell at first, but it gives me a head ache if I have to smell it too long. It's very strong which doesn't help. The smell doesn't really linger on the skin, though. It smells good, it just isn't a scent I really love. I got sick of it rather quickly.

Do not ingest this! Fight the urge if it smells yummy to you!

In short, I'm not impressed. When I dispensed the creme initially I thought that the creme felt luxurious between my fingers. I started to apply it to my legs. For the amount of creme I had in my hand, about a quarter size, it only covered about half the area that other cremes of mine will for the same amount of product. Not cool! In terms of helping me shave and producing a smooth after shave, I'm not impressed either. It didn't feel like it aided my razor much more than regular water does. Perhaps this is because I just think my other cremes are a lot better. Either way, this creme won't be replacing my regulars like Coochy Creme. I also used this on my genital area and I don't feel like it did an amazing job there either. It took me a lot longer to shave and I don't feel like my shave was very smooth. Skintimate shaving creme works much better and that is made for legs. A good thing is that it did make my skin feel smooth and silky afterward. For that, this earns three stars. It also didn't cause any irritation or stinging. I cut myself a lot during sessions with this, but don't with other shave cremes. I'm not sure why. I can't give it higher than three stars.

This is just average and overpriced for being average.

The packaging is very nice. It comes in a tall cylindrical bottle with an awesome pump top. When you receive it originally, it will have an extra plastic piece to prevent the bottle from pumping while being shipped. If you keep this piece, you can use it for traveling. The bottle is discreet and would make a great wedding gift or other type of girt. It says the company, product name, scent, and description on the front, and the ingredients in a few different languages on the back. Since the bottle is plastic, it won't rust! The 8.5 fluid ounces is a generous amount. $1.53 per ounce at the current price of $12.99
