Luxury bathing gel - bath and shower gel discontinued by Kama Sutra - review by PeachCandy

Kama Sutra's Luxury Bathing Gel can be used to cleanse the skin in the shower or the bath tub. It can also be used as a bubble bath, though the bubbles aren't very rich, or it can even be used as a hand soap. The nicely decorated, convenient pump bottle makes this shower gel a nice gift for someone special and a nice display for your shower, bath, or sink.

Because of the neutral ocean-scent, this shower gel can be used by both men and women. It contains vegetables oils, nut oils, and vitamin E, which are all great for moisturizing and nourishing skin. But after using this for awhile now, I would still probably only recommend this product to those with normal and oily skin. It just isn't nourishing enough for dry or extra dry skin. For those with normal or oily skin, this would probably make a nice product to shave with too.

Unfortunately, the ingredient list does list parabens, sulfates, and glycerin, so those who are sensitive to those ingredients may want to steer clear of this. Just for the record, I do have very sensitive skin and I've never had a problem with any skin sensitivities.

This shower gel is a nice, thick gel but not so thick it can't be pumped thought the dispenser. I would say it's pretty similar as far as the consistency to a drugstore shower gel like Lever 2000 (the blue gel one).

When you pump it out of the dispenser and into your hand or loofah, it will run off slowly if you turn your hand/loofah sideways. It will stay put long enough for you to apply it to your body though. It does feel nice and silky when you rub the product between your fingers and is equally great when you use it to wash your body.

I would say it creates a moderate-lather in terms of bubbles. Not too little, not too much. I have noticed that it creates much more lather though, when my husband uses it on his loofah than when I use it on my "srubby gloves." This shower gel washes of the skin nice and clean, and does not leave any type of residue or sticky/greasy feeling behind.

The Luxury Bathing Gel is described as "A rejuvenating bathing gel that awakens the body with a fresh ocean scent." It does has a nice ocean-esque scent to it, I would describe it as a moderately strong fragrance; not too light, not too overpowering. It does smell reminiscent to a typical "clean or ocean-scented" men's shower gel, however this one is not overly masculine and there is a bit of something else added (prehaps maybe some bergamot?).

I like how just a little bit of the fragrance lingers on the skin after washing, but not enough to compete with my perfume or scented lotions.

After pumping about a quarter-size amount of shower gel on your loofah, the gel will keep lathering and will stay sudsy until you wash it off with water. Like I mentioned before, it does wash off easily and will leave skin soft, clean, and free of residue.

Although this shower gel does have some moisturizing ingredients, it is definitely not suitable for dry or very dry skin. I do think it would be perfect for those with normal, oily or combination skin though. Also because of the questionable ingredients, I'm not sure if I would use this on my lady bits if you're prone to infections, etc.

This shower gel is a blue-ish, turquoise color which is fitting for the ocean-inspired scent. The bottle it comes in is completely see-though allowing you to see the pretty colored gel inside. The convenient pump top is black in color matching the logo and writing on the front. Overall, it looks very nice. It does say "Kama Sutra" and "Luxury Bathing Gel" but I don't think there is too much need for it to be discreet, it's just shower gel.

You can travel with this product, however you will need to put it in a travel-sized bottle, as the one it comes in is too big for airport security/airplane travel.

The bottle, (complete with pump erect) measures about 8" high. The bottle (without the neck) measures about 5" tall and about 9 1/4" around. So, you really get a lot of product making the price a little more reasonable. My husband and I shared our bottle, and with both of us using it everyday (at least once) for showers, it took us about 6 weeks to go through the bottle. Not bad.

There is not really any instructions on the bottle, but its obvious what to do with it.

No special sensations in this shower gel. But it does leave you nice and clean, and those who enjoy aromatherapy products will likely enjoy this calming and rejuvenating scent.

My husband and I have both been using this shower gel for about 6-weeks now. He absolutely loves it as it's perfect for his normal skin type. My skin on the other hand is much drier so I don't quite love it as much as him. I do like the shower gel and will continue to use it sometimes, but because my skin is just to dry to use it all of the time, it definitely can't be my go-to shower gel.

However, that is totally not the shower gel's fault so I still gave it five stars. It really is a nice product. My husband on the other hand will definitely continue to use it because he really likes it. I also bought this same shower gel for my teenage son and he really likes it too.
