Waxy Wax!

Candle by Entrenue

Published: August 8, 2008
extremely useful review
Sex Kitten Wicked Wax is a nicely scented candle that melts to a mediocre quality massage oil. It is flavored and edible, so there is no perfume-like taste to it, but the flavor is very faint and rather waxy. If oral play on the massaged/waxed areas is going to be involved, this would be an excellent choice of product; if you're just looking for a sensual massage, there are better candles out there.
Pros:
nice scent, melts at a relatively comfortable temperature, edible
Cons:
greasy and sticky-feeling oil, flavor is very faint

This toy was definitely designed
I am a huge fan of sensual massage, and absolutely love massage candles in general. When I saw that Sex Kitten Wicked Wax was actually FLAVORED and edible, as well, I just had to give it a try! Eagerly, I ordered the Sex On the Beach flavor/scent.

After trimming the wick to ¼” like with any good candle, I lit the Wicked Wax and let it burn for 20 minutes. It burned at a nice pace, and the wax seemed to melt at a comfortable temperature (i.e. it did not burn my hands when I poured some out).

When I applied it to hubby's back for that sensual massage, the oil felt… not so sensual. It was a combination of oily, greasy, and “waxy” feeling. I know it is a massage oil, but this one felt more like giving a rub down with a kitchen-based oil than a silky, sensual massage oil. It was just way too thick and greasy feeling for my taste.

It certainly smelled like Sex On the Beach, so I have no complaints there. When I went to taste it, however, it tasted like….wax. Well, wax with a faint Sex On the Beach flavor, but mostly wax. I guess it is better than tasting like perfume, and it is nice to have the option of a massage oil that is edible, but the flavor on this one left something to be desired. It was not bad, it was just very, very faint.

The massage oil never really absorbed into hubby's skin. It definitely thickens up and becomes less oily after a time, but then it takes on a somewhat waxy/greasy character. It left him feeling rather greasy and sticky, and he needed a hot shower to remove the oil from his skin.

I like the fact that Sex Kitten Wicked Wax does not taste unpleasant if you feel the urge to kiss/suck/bite the body part you are massaging with it. However, as a massage oil, I find it less than ideal--greasy and sticky as it cools.

Shunga's massage candles, definitely! They're not edible, but they smell great and melt into a really nice quality massage oil!

No, definitely didn't work out so well.

Ew. That just doesn't sound right to me, a candle that melts into massage oil and is edible. It's like a multi-functional toy- usually doesn't work out so well.
