My wife purchased this oil with her favorite thing in mind, a relaxing body massage. Well, I have never been one to say no, so she got her way, and so did I! On to the review:

The Pheromones Massage Oil is a product by Cal Exotics. It comes in three different scents. The one she chose is Ginger-Lime. There is also Citrus-Basil and Cucumber-Melon.

This product, of coarse, is for the couples, but can be used as a oil to help out dry skin. It is an oil that you can taste, so don't be afraid to give those sensitive areas a work-over after the massage. It has a soft, sweet scent that in no way is overpowering. It also leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. It puts it as close to that "baby soft" as any product ever could.

This oil is not very fast to absorb into the skin. It does not need frequent reapplication, which allows more time for the physical part of the massage. It is great for those times your body is just plain sore, and also those times you just want to spice up the fore-play.

The Pheromones Massage Oil has the usual grain type texture that is common to all oil based products. It is not thick enough to overcome oils natural ability to be runny. It is not sticky, even after it has absorbed into the skin, which brings me to the quality I love the best, absorption. This oil is not one that quickly absorbs into the skin. If you use the right amount, you will not only avoid a mess, but also avoid the need for frequent reapplication. To those of us who love giving or receiving massages, that is a huge benefit.

But alas, the oil does work its way in. There is no need to shower, afterward. It may take a bit more time compared to other oils and even lotions, but it does eventually get there. It leaves no sticky residue or oily feel to the skin. It does however, leave a very smooth, healthy feel to your skin.

OK, this is probably the hardest part of the review, to put into words, It has that quality to it that I can say, it tastes like it smells. That is an unusual quality for most things. It has a Ginger/Lime smell to it, that is carried into the taste. It's not a flamboyant aroma, but it definitely makes its presence known. It has the intensity that I would characterize as a walk by a flower garden in the heat of summer.

It would make a great subtle perfume, but the smell doesn't linger around long enough. Surprisingly, it tastes like it smells. Although I didn't find it totally disagreeable, as most fragrant oils, I wouldn't want to take it straight from the bottle, or take too much. The occasional taste from after the body massage works nice.

It's a great change from the usual oils that put either too much fragrance in them, or just plain taste bad, so that they are a deterrent from the occasional taste once applied to your partner.

As I stated earlier, this massage oil has one great characteristic. It actually lasted through the whole massage. I, being the one that gave the massage, wiped my hands with a towel after I had finished. There was no need to break out the soap and water. Much of the oil absorbed into my hands, leaving them soft and smooth. It does leave a feeling of softer, smoother skin, with a slight trace of the scent.

I would put this directly into the category for women, but I, myself would love to have a massage by this oil. The drawback for me would be the scent. Although it is weak to begin with and dissipated after a short time, I'm not one that particularly likes a flowery type scent on my skin. I would have to shower immediately afterwards, which would destroy the relaxing feeling I would want to go to sleep with.

As far as clean-up, it's not a product you have to worry about. If there's excess oil, wipe it off with a dry towel. What's on your body will absorb into your skin. The bottle is very well designed, so normal use should not be an issue to spills.

Now, as I highly rate this product as a must for people who enjoy massages, I have to say the pheromone part was a dud. I would say that even though I was excited, which I normally am to see my wife lay there so open and enticing, the pheromone's just didn't create the blast that they stated. In all fairness, I have yet to find one's that work. Yes, we made love after the massage session, but we normally do. My best piece of advise is to ask to give or receive an all over body massage. Phermones or not, It is its own mood enhancer with your loved one.

The Pheromones Massage Oil comes in a plastic bottle. We chose the Ginger/Lime flavored. The bottle has a clear plastic body and a purple pop top. Upon first receiving the product, you have to unscrew the cap and remove a red plastic plug that is inserted into the neck of the bottle. It is a tight fit, so remember to remove it before you hop into bed. It's best to do it at a table to keep from spilling the oil. You do not need to reinsert the plug when finished. It is merely a shipping plug to prevent spillage.

The bottle has a small dispensing hole under the flip top cap. The hole is designed to keep the oil from pouring out. A gentle squeeze can put the right amount into your hand or on someones body. Remember to store the bottle upright to keep the oil from slowly leaking out-or you can replace the shipping plug, if needed.

The bottle contains 4 ounces of the oil. The bottle is 4 3/8 inches in height and 1 7/8 inches in diameter. The bottle itself, is pretty discreet. It does however, state that it enhances sex appeal and that it is an aromatic sensual massage oil.It also states that it leaves your skin feeling soft, supple, refreshed and sensually scented. It is made by Cal Exotics and is manufactured in the USA.

OK, I have previously stated that it is a marvelous massage oil. I have also touched on the fact that the Pheromone didn't seem to work, but the act of the massage did put things in the right mood. Here is where I will give you a breakdown of the ingredients.

Carnation oil- A colorless, fragrant oil made from the Carnation plant. It is actually a Phenethyl alcohol.
I.P.M.- Describes the plant product(no other details found)
Procetyl 10- It is an Alkoxylated Cetyl Alcohol used in skin care products as an emollient, water soluble, and aids the perfume scent

I have to say that being almost made of all natural ingredients, this oil is definitely a must for lovers of the good old massage.

As I stated earlier, my wife bought this product with her favorite thing in mind-the good old all over body massage. For me, the one giving the massage, I found this to be a very well balanced oil. It did not absorb too quickly so I had less frequent applications. It was also not overpowering in the smell area. After it absorbed, there was only a slight scent left behind. The oil did as it claims. It left the skin feeling soft, with a healthy texture to it.

As I said earlier, I don't believe the Pheromones to have worked. This is of no suprise, as I yet think they have a lot to figure out in that area. The massage though, was enough to get me going. I also believe the massage, although relaxing, was enough for my wife to get started.

If I could put any request into Cal, I would request this product to have a partner, unscented. This really worked well to revitalize my rough hands. On to my wife's thoughts:

This was not a surprise to my husband when I wanted and ordered this massage oil. The unique scent choices are what lured me to it in the first place. As my husband has already stated we chose the Ginger-Lime, I was half expecting these massage oils to smell like some of my organic household cleaners, so I was a bit leery on actually trying the oil out, however I was surprised that the smell was not anything like those cleaners I have. It was a subtle and gentle smell. It tickled your nose and senses rather than overpower them.

The oil itself has almost the perfect attributes that I look for in a massage oil. The oil was slow to absorb, so time wasted reapplying was not an issue. I enjoyed the subtleness of the unique scent that never overpowered your senses, no matter how much you used. There is a constant smoothness or glide that is felt receiving and giving the massage; never did it feel sticky or gritty during the massage or while giving a massage to my husband. The oil does have the tendency to be "runny", but it is not something that is out of control. You can easily go from applying it to closing the bottle and returning to the massage without have the massage oil running off the body. This characteristic leads to less chance of huge messes where you don't want them.

After my massage, I didn't have the need to immediately wash it off. The massage oil blended nicely into my skin, leaving it feeling soft. This is a perfect oil for using just out of a shower or bath, especially if you have dry skin. There is a subtle scent that is left behind on your skin for many hours after application. It is hard to describe the scent of this massage oil, but I can say it does seem to have more of the lime that comes through, similar to a "clean" smell.

Another attribute I love is that this oil does not feel heavy or feel like it is building up. I enjoy the lightness and crispness that this oil provides.

I would recommend this to anyone that loves massages or anyone that suffers from dry skin. This Ginger-Lime Massage Oil can be used both by men and women as it does not discriminate against either sex with its unique scent. This is a great massage oil for beginners just because of all the qualities it possesses.

I am looking forward to trying the other scents of this massage oil line. Not only because I love massages but because of the benefit of being able to be used daily as a moisturizer.
