I have mixed feelings about Jo’s
Wild Clitoral Stimulation Gel. I chose the “Wild” version because I just was not sure the “Mild” would do it for me, and I wanted to try the more extreme product. This one claimed to be peppermint flavored, which I figured would probably work well as a stimulating agent as well, so I got the tube out and decided to give it a try.
Be warned, this product is silicone based, so if you are planning on using it with toys be careful about compatibility and do not use it with silicone toys. The gel has a medium consistency and is very silky and slippery-feeling. However, this product carries warnings that it is for external use only, so please do not attempt to use it as a lube! It carries a VERY light peppermint scent and subtle flavor. The tube is rather small, but you only need a drop or two of the gel to massage into your clitoris in order for it to begin to take effect.
Though I would have expected a cooling sensation from the peppermint, I actually noticed a warmth that began almost immediately upon application. It was not the type of heat you get from warming lubes, but a deeper, more sensitizing sort of warmth. I could actually believe the product’s claim that it increases blood flow to the clitoris and makes it more sensitive.
After a few minutes to let the sensitivity set in, I pulled out one of my vibes and went to work stimulating the clitoral area. This is where my mixed feelings about the product come in. I did, in fact, reach orgasm much faster than normal. However, it was a rather quick and “shallow” sort of orgasm, not the all-over body-quake I can usually achieve when I build up to it the old-fashioned way.
This gel is definitely fun to try as a novelty, and I think it works well enough that it might actually provide some aid to women who have difficulty reaching orgasm through clitoral stimulation. Personally, though, I found what it achieved in speed it sacrificed in intensity.
I like this product the more I use it. I just mourn the silicone base that makes it incompatible with so many toys, and the fact it can't be used internally as a lube. The gel still does not provide the deep, intense orgasms I'm used to, but it is very effective for a quick get-off. Also, because you need so little of it, cleanup in a cinch!
