Hand cream discontinued
by Cake Beauty

Wise beyond their years? Yes, but they should be wise enough to mellow out the scents!

Boy oh boy. What can I say about these hand cremes? Well, for one, they are ultra soothing and moisturizes beautifully. The moisture remains in your skin for hours on end! I also love the consistency- neither too thick nor thin. The only drawbacks for this creme set is the price as well as the smell. This product is $35.99. This means that for 3.4 fluid ounces, you are paying approximately $11.99 per bottle. I am not a fan of the smell of the sugar cookie and deserted island (too strong).

Use

This product is best used for moisturizing the body. The cremes are perfect for retaining moisture and soothing the skin. The product is very easy to apply and rubs into your skin smoothly. Every time I put this product on, I feel pampered and utterly special. From here on out, whenever I mention application of the product, I am referring to the milk made creme (the others were too strong for me.) Also, please do not use any of these lotions on the face if you have sensitive skin. The ingredients and fragrances in the creme may cause unfavorable reactions.

Now, I understand the hype about the Cake beauty products. This high quality creme is ultra-rich and it is sure to make you feel like a star. I especially love that these products are gluten free, GMO free, petrochemical free, phthalates free, triclosan free and parabens free.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

These cremes are the best in texture, consistency, thickness and viscosity. It is not too thick or thin; it does not leave your skin with a greasy, oily, or waxy feel. The creme comes out very easily and the easy to pour bottle really helps application as well. The cremes leave you feeling silky, smooth, and ultra-velvety. When I was holding my mother's hand, she said that my heads felt like a baby's bottom. She also said that my hands feel like I haven't worked a day in my life.

I love this creme because it is easy to apply and take off. It rinses off easily with soap and water (but the scent doesn't). There is no icky feeling left after applying or washing off the cremes, unlike some beauty products. I did not bother to taste this product. I'm sure none of you will taste your cremes either, should you decide to purchase it. Sorry Eden, there are just some things I just cannot do, especially with such powerful scents.

Taste / Aroma

Here we go. This is the reason why I gave this product four stars instead of five: the smell. Goodness gracious, it is like a deserted island and sugar cookie bomb just came down and exploded in my town! It is just too overpowering, people! The cremes just slapped me with smell and the stench is still present even after washing!

Now, I must say that the milk made smells heavenly and mild, but those deserted island and sugar cookie scents have definitely been gifted already. I have not heard from them if they liked it or not (and considering it was a gift, I doubt they would say anything negative about it to me). The delicious, mild, milk made scent is the one I kept. The deserted island scent was the strongest (so strong that it still smells like deserted island on my milk made bottle) and the sugar cookie scent is what the interior packaging smells like.

Performance

As far as performance goes, my goodness, it is wonderful! It absorbs into the skin fairly nicely and feels very natural to the skin. It does not have a waxy layer over top of the skin, nor does it have an artificial feel to it. The consistency is perfect (not too thin, not too thick) and the creme lasts for hours! You'd have to reapply after washing your hands, though. I would consider this to be a good thing because you certainly would not want a product to stay on even after washing. Ekk! Excluding washing, you get the maximum wear time of about six to eight hours.

Packaging

The packaging is absolutely delicious! Although I wish it had a higher quality packaging, I still love it for what it is. The box has the name of the product on the front and a description of the product on the back. The packaging is a pink cardboard box and I do not think that it is valuable enough to be reused. As far as discretion, it says hand creme on the box (but I'm sure that there is not a reason to hide bottles of lotion).

Here are some pictures of the back and front of the cremes as well as a picture of the set of cremes together.

Personal comments

Two of the three wise cremes does not necessarily balance the amount of fragrance to the amount of product. Even one drop of the product (deserted island and sugar cookie) seems to be overpowering. The milk made creme is perfectly balanced and I am guessing this is because it is milk made crème. You can't make the scent of milk too strong, can you?

Also, I would like to make a point about the scents. The deserted island and sugar cookie scents are very strong, even in small quantities. If you smell the deserted island right out of the bottle, you'd probably want to push the scent back out of your nose. It is that strong. The sugar cookie has a more artificial scent. It smells nothing like the cookies my grandma used to make every holiday. The milk made is mild and I prefer to keep that one. I will be giving the others to my family members as gifts.

With these overpowering scents, I may want to suggest one thing: use in moderation. Do not reapply when you do not smell the product anymore. Ladies, if you can smell your cremes and perfumes after about an half hour, you have too much on. The brain does something called sensory adaptation and habituation. This means that all of your senses, aside the auditory sense for habituation, adapt to its surroundings (sort of like ignoring what is constant). This is why you cannot hear the fan after a couple minutes of it being on. This is also why you can smell the scents in your house immediately when you walk through the door, but after a while, you cannot smell it.

The smell is still there- it is just that sensory cortices are just ignorant the constant smells and sounds that surround you. So if you do not smell your lotion anymore, don't reapply to smell it again. It's just all in your head- pun intended!

Experience

I love this product! I cannot say that I love the set because it is not the whole set that I am in love with. I am in love with just the milk-made hand creme. It has a perfectly mild scent that makes it perfect for everyday use and continuous reapplication. This is important because the creme does wash off when you are washing your hands (but it seems as if the smell of the product still remains in your body tissue.) This means that when you are to reapply the lotion after drying your hands, the scent will not be too overpowering.

Follow-up commentary
I still like my milk made creme and I still despise the deserted island and sugar cookie cremes. The milk made scent is mild and definitely not overpowering like the others are. My trio is now a single- as I have gifted the other two.
