Shunga exotic massage oil by Shunga Erotic Art - review by darthkitt3n

The Shunga Erotic Art massage oil is an absolutely wonderful product. I ordered the Desire scent, which is a warm vanilla. I already have a couple of massage oils, so I was a bit unsure if I REALLY needed another one. Now I am wishing I could have gone back in time and only gotten this one.

The massage oil is packaged in a plastic bottle with a label on the front. The back has some information printed directly on the bottle, which I noticed can be scratched off easily. The bottle contains 8 ounces, or 250 milliliters, of oil and features a top that you press to open, which many lotions also use. I don’t feel the top is very stable. I have flipped the bottle over and have shaken it and none of the oil has come out, but I just don’t feel like I can fully trust it to not leak. When I open the bottle, a bit usually dribbles down the side of the bottle, which I just wipe onto my hand or wipe it off with a napkin.

I’d say this bottle is somewhat discreet. It is a nice looking bottle. Keeping the front label, which features a picture of a half-naked woman, turned back would definitely make this discreet. Regardless of that, I plan on leaving it sitting on my dresser next to all of my lotions and body dusts.

Shunga’s massage oil is made out of all natural oils. I definitely like seeing that, rather than a bunch of weird words that I can’t pronounce.

Ingredients:

Sweet almond oil, grape seed oil, sesame oil, avocado oil, safflower oil, vitamin E, ylang ylang, and fragrance.

The texture is nice and smooth. Since it is just oil, it is a bit runny, though it rubs in nicely. It does feel a bit greasy if you get too much in one area, though. A little definitely goes a long way. Since the bottle drips some oil when it is opened, you may end up with more than you wanted to use. Still, I can see this lasting a very long time. I have used mine about 5-6 times already and the level of the oil is just a tiny bit below the cap.

I love the scent. It is a warm, deep vanilla scent. It doesn’t smell like cheap imitation vanilla at all. The flavor is a very light vanilla flavor, barely there. When I have licked some to see what it tastes like, I think I am mostly getting a taste of just having oil in my mouth.

As a massage oil, this works great. It absorbs slowly into the skin, which is great since you don’t have to keep applying it. I do kind of feel like I need to wash my hands after getting a good amount on them, but it isn’t a totally nasty greasy feeling like grease from food is. It also leaves a nice sheen to my skin. I would love to rub this all over my body before going out, but since going out lately has just meant going to work or going to work out, it’s probably a terrible idea. Our anniversary date is coming up, so I’ll probably do that after showering.

I have no problems washing this off. Just scrubbing with some warm water and soap gets the oil off easily. Though, really, I don’t want to wash it off. It smells so good, like cupcakes.

I feel the Shunga Erotic Art massage oil would make a great bridal gift. It doesn’t scream that it is intended for sex or anything. It looks more like something aimed for relaxing.
