Zing? What Zing?

As far as lubes go, this one works great. It lasts longer than Glide and doesn't leave you feeling sticky or greasy. However many will find that it doesn't deliver the 'zing' it promises to.

Use

ID Pleasure is a water based lube that's supposed to enhance the pleasure of the user with its unique blend of ingredients. The added menthol is supposed to provide a cooling sensation on the skin. The Ginko Biloba leaf extract is supposed to improve circulation. Some can feel it, others just don't. Unfortunately for me, I never felt it.

Being water based makes it safe for just about any toy you can think of. If you can feel the cooling and tingling sensations this lube could make for a lovely massage as well.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture of Pleasure is very smooth and silky. It's less runny than water, but still runs if it's on an inclined surface. It comes out of the container nicely, easy enough to control the flow and not end up with half the bottle all over you or your toy.

On the skin it feels really smooth and glides really well. Unlike Glide, it doesn't seem to melt when it's put onto warmer body parts. Once it spreads itself fairly thin, it just stops spreading on its own until you finish the job for it.

Taste / Aroma

When I stick my nose right in the lube, I can smell a tiny hint of menthol, something very closely resembling spearmint. I tasted it for the sake of science, and while it wasn't very unpleasant tasting, it left a spot on my tongue that tingled for a few minutes. Not the worst thing that could happen, but if you don't like things like that, you should probably avoid getting this into your mouth.

Performance

For me, this worked leagues better than Glide as a lube.

After it absorbs into the skin, which only takes a few minutes, you're left with soft, silky skin that doesn't feel greasy but still lets hands and other massage implements glide right over easily. For hand jobs it's not the longest lasting lube out there, but I got a good 5-10 minutes out of it before it didn't have quite enough glide left in it for us.

On toys, I left them outside of my body for about 30 seconds or so while switching positions and Pleasure sort of started to dry up, but everything was still usable.

During sex, it lasted the whole time, with and without a condom.

My fiance felt a little bit of a tingle that this lube is supposed to provide. At the most I've felt a little bit of a cooling sensation, but nothing that I could credit to anything other than the air flow from the ceiling fan hitting something wet.

I didn't feel the need to wash this off, but if you do, a little bit of soap and warm water will take it right off.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Long lasting

Packaging

I got this as a little tube in a package with other lubes, so I don't have the same exact packaging as EF does. My little tube is a few inches long with a little screw cap on it. The front says ID Pleasure, sensual lubricant, water based, feel the zing. The back tells me that it's a water based formula that's supposed to heighten sensation, as well as lists the ingredients, which are: Water, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Cellulose Polymer, Polyehtylene Oxide, Sodium Benzoate, Ginko Biloba Leaf Extract, Trifolium Pratense (red clover) flower extract, Methylparaben, Carbomer 981, Tetrahydroxypropyl Ethylenediamine, Diazolidinyl Urea, EDTA flavor, and Menthol.

The .42 ounce tube is discreet in that it's really easy to hide. Tuck it in a pocket or keep it in your purse, the cap isn't going anywhere so you won't have to worry about leaks.

Personal comments

If you don't like this as a lube, you can use it as a moisturizer on tough to moisturize spots like elbows and heels. It sinks in quickly enough; especially if you're under a ceiling fan or something providing lots of air flow, since it gets spread so thin.

Experience

I've used almost the whole little tube between solo sessions and sex with my fiance, and I have to tell you. I didn't feel anything different. I really don't know what all the hype is about on this one honestly.

It worked great as a lube, and really nothing more. I didn't really have any problems with it getting sticky, and it didn't dry up relatively quickly when exposed to air while on my toys.

I'll be buying a bigger container of it soon. The .42 ounce tube will give you about 4 or 5 really lubed up sessions of play.
Follow-up commentary
I admit, I never did go buy a bigger bottle of it. But I did use up the rest of it and it still works well as a lube. Long story short, not the worst thing you could get, but not the greatest either.

I wouldn't have thought of using this as a moisturizer or for massage. The menthol probably feels great for those applications. Thanks for the review!

A lot of people don't think of lube as something that can also act as a moisturizer, but a surprising number of them make decent ones, lol.

Thanks Vieux and LuLu

I love this lube! It feels a bit cool and tingly to me. It's too bad you didn't get as much out of it as your partner! But everyone's body is different.

  • Is there a difference between warming and cooling lubes?

It's not a flavored lubricant, and in the reviews people noted that it didn't have an especially good taste to it, somewhat like plastic.
    • i wouldn't want to taste a lube unless it is for oral sex and is flavored
