Intimate shaving template - sensual kit discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by EndlessFrost

The Intimate Shaving Template by Cal Exotics is exactly what the name implies: a template you use to shave cute shapes out of the hair on your intimate region. When you open the box, you are greeted with a small (6cm x 5cm), convex purple disk with shapes on it. There are 4 options, and you get to pick one. I chose the heart(4cm x 4 3/4cm) with the others being a rectangle (1 1/2cm x 5 3/4cm), triangle (3 3/4cm x 3 1/2cm), and an arrow (4cm x 5cm). The disk is made of about 2 millimeters of silicone, and while easy to cut out the patterns (they're already etched in so you know where to cut), it wasn't damaged at all by my electric razor. In the center of the overlapping patterns, there are two nubs to grip to help hold the product in place while you shave. Included with the template is an instruction sheet containing instructions, tips, and cleaning instructions in two languages. Also in the box is a small plastic pouch that contains the template and makes a perfect place to store it in when you are finished.

Right from the beginning, there is no noticeable smell to the material. The silicone is extremely soft and flexible. It is thin enough to be easy to cut yet thick enough to be sturdy and long lasting. After cutting out the pattern, there are no sharp edges on the template. Once you start shaving, you have to hold the template still, and the included grip can be a bit small. I have small fingers, and even I found it hard to hold on to. If you can't hold the pattern still, you can trace it with a marker and shave around the outline as suggested in the included instruction sheet.

The template is reusable, and when you are done shaving, the template is easy to clean. You can use any agent suitable for silicone (soap and water, toy cleaner, boiling for 3 minutes, or a cycle through the dishwasher on the top rack) while avoiding cleaning products that contain oil.

When I received this assignment, I began letting my pubic hair grow out to make better use of the template, so by the time it had arrived, I had a decent little bush to work with. I chose the heart which, in hindsight, may have been the hardest template to work with. My results were less than enjoyable, and I ended up shaving off the final little tuft of hair that was supposed to be a heart. In the end, I think that it was my fault that the shape never came out due to errors in shaving and shaky hands making me move the template a lot. I tried with combined efforts of a small electric women's razor, a normal triple bladed razor, and a pair of safety scissors. The product is high-quality and has done everything possible to make shaving a heart over your crotch an easy and enjoyable experience, but in the end, it just wasn't meant to be. I'm certainly not dissatisfied with it though and have kept the template with every intention of trying again.
