For when you need a little "lift"Ultimately, it is a well-made product with many different uses. I think it comes down to how tall you are--the height of the wedge is only 7" so it might be more useful for you during sex if you are on the petite side. To really get the most use out of it, I think I need to use it with the Ramp.
ease of use, construction, washable cover
not for taller women, more useful when combined with another ramp
My husband and I had talked about buying something like this for a while, mainly because we like to try new positions all the time and comfort is sometimes an issue. We had been using pillows but they would slide everywhere. He brought this home one day and we have enjoyed it in various ways--mostly under me. He sometimes props himself up on it but unless we are on our bed with pillows it's not quite the right angle for that use (too steep). I am 5'8" and when I bend over it, it's pretty useless for me since my legs are too long. We use it most often underneath my rear. It makes thrusting easier in the missionary position and entry for anal sex is much easier for me since he is well-endowed. Even though the fabric is like microfiber (grippy) and the foam that it's made of is pretty firm, I often find myself sliding down the ramp and off of it while we are using it on the floor. It's fairly easy to hide on a bed (put a pillowcase over it and put underneath pillows) or underneath in the bag that it comes in. Ours also included a small booklet that had various positions you could use it for and products that Liberator offers. All in all, it's not too bad to have in your collection. As someone who is taller and with longer legs, I find myself wanting something a little bigger though.
The Liberator Wedge is definitely well-made. It is firm and supports both myself and my husband (both average height/weight). It's also soft on the outside. I do not recall it having any smell, even when we first bought it. We have used it numerous times with no wear to the foam or cover. According to the Liberator site, the fabric is microfiber and is washable. It is removable by zipper. It also comes with a nice nylon cover (mine was black with no indication of what was inside). It is 14" wide by 7" tall. While it is not waterproof, it is stain-resistant to water-based lubes.
We used this because we were tired of using pillows that would slide everywhere and it has fulfilled that purpose. It makes some positions much easier but to get the maximum enjoyment I think it is best used in conjunction with the Liberator Ramp.
It came from the store in a pretty straightforward plain nylon bag that has a handle. Not that you really need a manual, but it included a booklet with position ideas and other products from Liberator. Due to the size and shape, I would not say it's travel-friendly or very discreet, lol.
The foam is polyurethane foam also has an outer lining, so is stain-resistant water-based lubes and things like food such as jell-o, whipped cream, etc. :) The microfiber cover is removable and washable as well.
Personally, this wedge is just a bit too small for me to be used by itself regularly, but it does have its uses. I think shorter women would feel more comfortable on it.
He likes it. We have both complained that we wished it were a little bit bigger but it doesn't slide around like pillows do so he considers it a good buy. :)
Follow-up commentary 5 months after original review
We still use this fairly often for when we need something a bit firmer than some pillows to prop my rear up. We got quite a bit of lube on it last weekend, and it cleaned up very well, with no stains. Still worth it, to me! Now I want to get the ramp. Wish EF carried them.
