I am a Swag-Whore with an Eden Towel.
I am a sucker for swag and this is no exception. This towel is so fun, bright, soft, and what better way to show some EF love than at the beach or pool. Or the shower, because it is too cold right now to go to the beach.Published: October 26, 2011
Pros:
Soft, 100% cotton, vibrant and fun
Cons:

I love me some EF swag and when I saw the new beach towel I knew right away, I had to have it. The towel comes folded and packaged in an envelope style plastic bag. It does have that new material smell coming out of it but lucky for us this 100% cotton towel is machine washable. At first glance it is as bright and vibrant as in the picture here onsite, and very soft.
My measurements pre-wash and dry were almost spot on with the product page at 29 X 60. Post washing and drying measurements are 28 X 58.75. I did expect it to shrink a bit as all cotton does.
Tossing it in the wash, and pulling it from the tumble dryer leaves the towel fluffy and even softer than when it first arrived. I would suggest putting this in with your other darks to wash because the color will certainly bleed a bit and you don't want your white towels to become grey. Do not use bleach with this if you want to preserve the the design on the front.
It sports a black side with an Eden chemistry equation splattered over it in very bright pink and green. The colors really pop on the black background. It does have the web address but it certainly does not scream, "This is where I buy sex toys!" at all. The black side is soft, almost a brushed cotton feel. The other side is white with your typical terry cloth weave.
There is one small tag on it that says that it is 100% cotton and designed by EdenFantasys. The other side has a few washing instruction symbols that tell you to wash in cold water, do not bleach, or iron, and one that looks to be a sun with a big X on it. I assume it means not to line dry. I really am not sure. I have never seen such a symbol and google could not really tell me either.
Pool and beach season is well over up here in Canada, so I can only pretend that I lied around the beach on my new towel. I do use it out of the shower and it is just fine - does the job it is intended to do, absorb. After the first wash I noticed a wee bit of black fuzz in the crease of my elbow but, my skin was still damp. Once it had dried completely, the fuzz just wiped away. Since that it has been washed again and there is no more fuzz.

Follow-up commentary
4 months after original review
After 2 or 3 washes, the black fuzz was gone. I am totally digging this towel and I have full intention of using it at the pool this summer to swag it up.

The EF Towel: Love it or Leave it?
-
I signed on today to see this. I don't really have a use for beach towels but I kind of want it anyway. It's so cute! What do you think?

I like it! Though a black towel would seem a bit much for a beach. Great to keep in the back of the car for a midnight romp on the beach. :P

Cool! I would love to have three or four, we love black towels and it would be OK for the kids. Plus, like Lucky21 was saying, it would be great for midnight romps.
