Beyond its uses in the bedroom, it is completely useful outside of it; the day I received this throe, I was in a situation in which I was outside on wet grass with no change of clothing. I laid the throe down on the wet grass and my jeans stayed as dry as they were when I put them on that morning, even an hour later. You could take it to the beach, park, or on a picnic as a blanket that not only keeps you off the sand and grass, but keeps you dry on wet surfaces.

The Throe is a twin-sized blanket made of plush and satin, with a liner in between the layers for wetness protection that sounds like plastic when you crinkle it. The throe has two separately textured sides for variation and maximum comfort; the first side is a smooth satin, the second is a fluffy soft almost super cropped fur plush.

It appears to be made very well, there are no loose threads or stitches and the material does not feel cheap or low-quality. There was no odor or discoloration of the fabric. After washing and drying multiple times, there has been no deterioration of the fabric, stitching or color.

I have the black throe and it's very subtle, it looks like a luxury plush blanket with no hints as to its true purpose--I told one of my housemates I considered it for picnics on the beach and she commented about thinking that was very clever, so the unknowing visitor to your home would never know its true purpose.

Measuring in at 60" by 54", it is large enough to fit a twin size bed perfectly; it hangs over the sides and protects the bed. On a larger bed, such as a king size bed, it would not cover all the way in any direction, but would be large enough for two people to get comfortable on easily.

The reason I purchased this throe is because I hate the feeling of lying on towels for extended amounts of time, I wanted something sensual and comfortable that didn't make me feel like sex was a big hassle. I found that I didn't love the satin side--which is the side I expected to love. The satin side didn't feel sexy or inviting, perhaps because the material was on the thinner side and I could very obviously feel that there was a liner just under the fabric. The only other reason I didn't love the satin side is because the satin is only stitched at the corners, the satin side can pull away from the core and balloon out or move around. This is why, I believe, the throe is so slippery--I find that with the satin side down the throe moves around on the bed more, but I don't slide around on *it*.

The plush side, however, was really really comfortable! It might just be the nature of the fabric, but it felt much more like a cozy blanket than a towel-substitute or fabric over a shower curtain. Although this side, too, is only stitched on the edges, because it's a different style of fabric, it doesn't balloon out or come away from the inner liner so it's much more stable.

I found that I felt much freer--I knew that if I spilled something, I wouldn't have to change my sheets or worry about staining bedding. I could also use this to wipe off lube after sex, so that I wouldn't need to get up to clean up.

The Throe absorbed liquid extremely well; nothing got onto my bedding or onto the floor. I tested it with a cup of water, and while it did not all absorb (though I didn't leave it sitting there for long) it did a great job of wetness removal! Furthermore, even when I picked it up, there was NOTHING indicating that it had been wet at all on the other side or on the bed,

It is a little crinkly, somewhere around the volume of balling up a piece of paper, much more quiet than cellophane, for example, but when you've positioned it on the bed and are in-use, it isn't very loud or noticeable. If you're worried about noise, you could throw on some music and it would be just fine.

It came packaged in a clear box, with an insert of a very scantily clad woman draped in one of the Throes. It's not subtle at all, because the woman is obviously naked, but if you wanted something less obvious you could remove the insert (or turn it inside out) and use the box for storage. The throe itself would probably be smaller folded without the box, but to protect it from dust or other things that might get on it during storage, the plastic box would be suitable.

This toy can be washed on cold with like colors, and it can be dried on tumble dry low.

I washed it alone, and did not notice any of the color bleeding off into the water, but if you're concerned, you can wash it alone. I also did not have a tumble dry setting on my dryer, so I tossed it in on fluff dry (just air, no heat) and it took forever to dry! My only main complaint is how long it took to dry; next time I'm going to figure out some way to stretch it out to air dry it. It's hard to air/line dry if you don't have a line to pin it up on, but it must be faster than fluff dry!

If you do put this in your dryer, be very careful not to leave it in there too long and not to put it in on high heat as that can melt your throe and ruin it.

I knew I was going to love this toy when it saved me the indignity of being soaked on wet grass, and it's been even more successful in the bedroom than out of it. Everything has been washed out of this blanket, including blood, lube, cum, water, and orange juice, with no matting, pilling, or noticeable change to the furry plush layer.

The only reason I'm taking off a star (really, it's only half a star I'd take off, but the system only allows for whole scores) is because it's so slippery! It'll start off covering the entirety of my bed, and by the time I'm done, it's somehow migrated about six inches to one side, and I find it difficult to use it with the satin side up. Even so, this is not a reason not to purchase, by any means, it's just something to consider when you're placing your throe!
