The Liberator Shag Throe is a must for anyone who has messy sex (including solo) and hates sleeping in the wet spot. First things first, it's a beautiful addition to your bed or really anywhere you throw it. At 71" X 54" it covers quite a large area. I've got a twin bed and it almost completely covers it. The best word to describe how it feels is luxurious. The shag side is incredibly soft even after washing and the satin side is cool and slippery.
I've slept on many a wet spot and the novelty of laying where you've been naughty wears off fast. I also don't like the stain I leave on my bed sheets as my juices are often quite creamy. With the throe I can just fold it up and place it at the foot of my bed or elsewhere. The satin does leave a dark spot when you get it wet, but the shag side dries well unless you've gotten a lot of liquid on it. Which I did by pouring a few cups of water all over it. It's been folded up on my bed for a few hours now and it's still wet. But my bed sheets remain dry. Messy sex will no longer be your concern.
I've had come, lube spills, and drips of massage wax wash out just fine. With the throe beneath me, I'm more comfortable with letting myself go during orgasm and letting things happen naturally. With just my bed sheets I always checked after masturbation, worried about wet spots. Now I check the throe in the hopes I've gotten it wet. I delight in knowing my sheets are free of liquid.
I used the throe nearly every day for a week before washing the first time. Since my juices don't cover much space on the throe, I don't see the point in washing it every single time I use it. When you do wash it, wash it on cold and dry it on low heat. It took two rounds in the dryer for mine to dry completely, but it was less than an hour total drying time.
I'm so glad I got a throe and I wish I could've gotten one sooner. I can't recommend it enough.

I've had this for a year and the material has held up extremely well over much use and washing. It's still super absorbent and just as soft as the day I received it. I would definitely buy another one of these if something happens to this one. Can't recommend it enough.

I definitely soaked through one of these just now. Like, through to the carpet I had it spread out on. :( Thankfully it wasn't too bad and should dry soon, but... isn't that supposed to be impossible? I mean, I was gushing like crazy, but still!
Has anyone else had this happen? I've had this blanket for a few months and this never happened before (at least not that I realized). Dang it, I hope it's not damaged... -

I've heard of the waterproof layer wearing out (after more than a year, though--might have been a few years? Can't remember where I read it). In any case, these blankets don't last forever, I don't believe.
A few months seems awfully quick, though. Wish I had a suggestion for you!

Why no light colours for the Liberator throe?

After reading all the positive reviews, I'd love to try the throe, but none of the colours available would work for me. I don't want animal prints or dark colours. Why aren't there any light colours? White or beige would work for many people, and not be as blatantly sex related as red and purple.

Since you waited nearly a week to wash, did it pick up any smells?
Surprisingly, no. That might prove different for those who smoke or have pets. Mine smells lovely all the time. It defies what we know about leaving things soiled.

Great review. I really like this but it's not cheap. I do think it's probably worth it though. It's probably one of those items that would get used a LOT and you'd get your money's worth out of it just in the convenience of it.
We don't have much juices so I don't think I'll wash it everytime either. It's good to know that it meant to last, you wrote the followup after one year and it's still good this must mean it's quality!
