shall we shag now, or shag latter?

Liberator makes a great high quality product. You add that to the fact they are made here in the USA. You cant go wrong with that combination. My only gripe would be a lack of options available for colors and sizes. But it is not enough of a gripe to take away any stars. They get 5/5 stars from me yet again.

Use

Think of the shag throw as a water proof blanket. We have all at some point in our live used a water proof mattress pad. And they have worked for protecting the mattress. But what about the sheets? Do they not deserve some protection? Leave it up to liberator to come up with the answer. This throw does exactly that. Protect what ever it is covering. It can be used all over the house, in the car, outside, you name it.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material

The shag has 2 sides. One is a microfiber type of fabric. It is very soft and plush. EF has it down as plush/satin. The tag on my throw says it is 100% polyester. No other material listed. The back feels like a satin. Not as silky smooth as satin, but close.

The satin side seems to be what makes it water proof. The water soaks into the microfiber/shag side a little. But Never gets past the satin side. It is water proof, so dont worry about that.

The seam work is done well. No loose threads. No missed seams. No snags in the material. Very well made. It is made in the USA, if you are like me that is a important factor in what I purchase.

The thickness is on the average side. Not too thin, but I have seen alot thicker blankets out there. I feel it is just about right to serve its purpose.

As soon as it arived, I ran it through the wash a few time to see how it would hold up. I know that most things with bright colors fade when washed. The color has not changed one bit. Still as bright as before it was washed. No lose in the softness either.

Performance

This has preformed very well so far. Now keep in mind we have not had any big spills yet, but I am confidant our shag throw will keep the sheets dry when we do.

I found that when you are using a liberator shape on top of the throw, they tend to walk all over the bed. More so then if they were just on top of the sheets. I believe this is from the satin side being slick. Our jazz sticks very well to the shag side of the throw. Almost like velcro, with out the velcro sound when pulling them apart. But the satin side wants to move with any kind of hard thrusting. So this might not be the best pair up if you are into heavy hard fast sex.

Packaging

This came in a simple plastic bag with a zipper. There was a cardboard sleeve inside with info about the shag and liberator. It had a picture of a woman laying on the shag blanket. Not too discreet, but no nudity. The plastic bag it came in can not really be used for storage. Its like a tent, once you take the tent out of the storage bag, you cant get it rolled up tight enough to get back in the storage bag. Same her with the shag throw. But I dont see any reason why it cant sit at the foot of your bed, making it easy to grab when you need the extra protection.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Minimal
    • Recyclable

Care and Maintenance

Machine wash by its self or with other dark colors. On the gentle cycle, with cold water. DO NOT BLEACH. Tumble dry on low. Simple enough, right? Like I stated above, if you follow this direction, your throw will keep looking like new for a long time.

I have stored ours at the foot of our bed. Draped over the foot board. Or folded up sitting on the corner of the bed. But you can store this anywhere. In your linen closet, if you have one. On a closet shelve. In the car. Just about any where. After all, it is just a blanket as far as everyone else is concerned.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Personal comments

I just wish there was other colors for sale on eden's web site. The purple does not go with anything else in our bedroom. It would be nice to have some colors like white, black, light blue, ect.. Most of the colors from liberator are very bright and loud. Some more mellow ones are all I am asking for.
Follow-up commentary
This has been a great investment. Even though the wife would rather use it as a cuddle blanket, then a sex blanket. I am still glad I purchased it. We have washed it maybe 10 more times since the original review, and it was stayed as soft as a brand new one. The color has not faded, as far as I can tell. I might get a new one in a year just to see if there is a difference between the new one and the old one. Because I can not see any type of wear and tear happening.

My wife is afraid of it losing its fluffiness, so she never wants to use it to protect the bed from fluids. I have explained to her time after time, this blanket was designed to protect your sheets from needed to get washed every other day. It is made to take a wash and still hold up. And it has.
