Soft, luxurious and washable!

Oh this is so worth your money especially if you use a lot of oils, lotions or are a female squirter. While you still have to wash something it will save your bed clothes and possibly save your bed if the fluids leak down into the mattress.

Use

The Liberator Throe is designed to be used during sex. It's basically a blanket that's got a bottom that's waterproof. So, it so totally works for what it's designed for! If you're a squirter, if you spill lube or massage oil or whatever on it, it will keep whatever is under the Liberator Throe protected! And then just wash it like you'd wash anything else. It's dryer safe as well.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material

Oh the Throe is beautifully designed! The stitching is high quality and it feels wonderful! I much prefer the shag throe to the posh throe. The backing is a satin with the topping plush. Inside is a plastic layer that protects the bottom.

The info page states the color is purple, however mine is a beautiful satin blue. Dunno if it's a one time error with mine, or if "purple" is simply used liberally. The plus top is very beautiful with longer threads, however it is nothing like a shag carpet. It's very soft and if you pass your hand over it it looks darker where you touched. It's positively wonderful feeling.

Performance

It works perfectly. It's soft, it's comfortable, it's waterproof and washable. The only thing is that with the longer threads on the plush top, if something (ejaculate, oils, lotions, lubes) dry on there I can see it getting crusty making the need to wash it between uses very necessary.

Packaging

It comes in a plastic box with a cardboard insert. Both seem recyclable. I wouldn't re-use it. It's totally not discreet. The throe itself could be quite discreet, simply looking like a unique blanket. But the picture on the cardboard insert is of two people having sex. Not discreet at all.

Experience

My boyfriend and I love these so much we have two! The shag and a posh one. They are wonderful if you are having sex on the floor or something; it totally protects you from carpet burn and saves whatever you're having sex on from the inevitable fluid leaks.
Follow-up commentary
This is still my favorite Throe. I much prefer it to the posh Throe. It feels nicer on the skin, it looks nicer and it's actually quite warm! I'd take this one over the posh one any day!

Rinse fluids off in the shower and let it drip-dry so you don't have to wash it as often.

    • I definitely soaked through one of these just now. Like, through to the carpet I had it spread out on. :( Thankfully it wasn't too bad and should dry soon, but... isn't that supposed to be impossible? I mean, I was gushing like crazy, but still!

      Has anyone else had this happen? I've had this blanket for a few months and this never happened before (at least not that I realized). Dang it, I hope it's not damaged...

      Oh wow. I was under the impression those were pretty waterproof/sealed for that type of thing. Sorry to hear about this. I can't comment on if its ever happened, beings I don't own one (yet lol), but good luck next time!
    • I've heard of the waterproof layer wearing out (after more than a year, though--might have been a few years? Can't remember where I read it). In any case, these blankets don't last forever, I don't believe.

      A few months seems awfully quick, though. Wish I had a suggestion for you!

  • Why no light colours for the Liberator throe?
    • After reading all the positive reviews, I'd love to try the throe, but none of the colours available would work for me. I don't want animal prints or dark colours. Why aren't there any light colours? White or beige would work for many people, and not be as blatantly sex related as red and purple.

      Seconded. The purple color is so pretty! I'd love a baby blue or light link option. Our bedroom is black and baby blue. Black doesn't seem like a good color to pick for something that will be catching bodily fluids. I'd much prefer a baby blue Throe. We just got the purple and figured oh well to matching. If a baby blue came out I would buy that.
