It's happened to almost everyone. You're in the heat of the moment and you realize you don't have a condom. Fuck. What do you do? Do you continue, even with the lack of protection or do you cock block your lover? Who needs intercourse anyway when you can play a sexually charged game of checkers, am I right? Wrong, at least for most people. With the help of the handy little Just in Case compact you never have to worry about making such a difficult decision again. That is, unless you forget to refill it with condoms.

The Just in Case is similar to a compact mirror in size and appearance. It's about 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" inches with a height of about 1". It’s available in red, pink, silver, and gold. All of the colors are appealing, but I personally chose the silver one, because I felt it would match things the best. The compact has a clear plastic shell and a colored plastic insert. All of the colors have a shiny look to them, and therefore the exterior of the compact can be used as a mirror as well. Underneath the clear shell, on the top of the compact is a rhinestone heart, which is the Just in Case logo. The clear plastic shell is nice, because it keeps the colored area from getting scratched and faded. I throw my Just in Case into a purse full of all sorts of crap and the exterior of it has held up pretty well. Besides a few scratches on the clear plastic it looks good as new.

When the Just in Case is opened it reveals a mirror perfect for checking makeup or anything else you might need a mirror for. The mirror is a nice size, since it’s only slightly smaller in length and width than the compact itself. The compartment of the Just in case is shiny plastic in whatever color you buy. Since this area is shiny and doesn’t have a clear plastic shell like the rest of the compact, it can accumulate fingerprints, but they can easily be wiped away with a cloth to reveal a surface that looks good as new. In the middle of this area is a little box with the words “Just in Case” in the middle of it. This was the only thing that I found not to be discreet about this little compact. If people see the words Just in Case, they may ask what it’s implying. However, I doubt it would make them automatically assume that you’re smuggling condoms or anything else in your mirror.

The Just in Case makes a clicking noise when opening and closing the compact, and the storage compartment. I liked that it clicked, because you can be positive when you hear the click that it’s securely fastened and you don’t have to worry about anything tumbling out into your purse. The first couple of times I opened the Just in Case I had a little trouble getting it open, as did my boyfriend. Using a fingernail to pop it open makes it a lot easier.

A nice thing about the Just in Case is that it can be used to store a variety of different things. It comes included with two Lifestyles Ultra Sensitive Lubricated condoms. Who doesn’t love free condoms? The two condoms fit perfectly in the little compartment. Sadly if you use XL condoms they might not be able to fit into the compartment, because like I said the regular sized ones fit perfectly. The compartment ensures that your condoms will be stored without getting smushed or damaged during transport. This compact can be used as a pill box, to store O.B. tampons, or even just as a mirror. It allows you to be creative with what you choose to store inside of it.

My favorite thing about the Just in Case is that it’s a discreet way to ensure you’ll always be protected and prepared. With the Just in Case you don’t have to worry about the guy providing the condoms. You also don’t have to worry about nosy people rummaging through your purse and pulling out condoms or other potentially embarrassing things in public.

The Just in Case is a female oriented product since it’s shiny and has little rhinestones on top. I hope this company will think about making some kind of storage compartment for men in the future, because my boyfriend loves it but has no need for a compact mirror. I think that this product is perfect for teens and college kids who don’t always think with their heads when the moment strikes. I also think that this product will suit anyone who wants to take their sexual safety into their own hands.
