A decent basic lubricant
If you are stepping out there and looking for your first lubricant, this is the one to go with. You don't need much, and one bottle will last you for quite a while.Published: January 27, 2009
Pros:
A good basic starter lubricant for vaginal sex.
Cons:
Sometimes, when paired with certain condoms, it can produce a strange odor.
I first used this lubricant a few years ago...my (ex) boyfriend brought it out in an effort to help the "process" along. Prior to this, I had used standard KY products, with average results (average more so meaning that there was always a need to reapply and it wasn't the easiest to use). With AstroGlide, the design of the small bottle makes it 1) easier to store (can go in a bedside table or in one of those 'hide your toy' pillows) and 2) easier to use.
While most men aren't always enthralled with the idea that they were not able to make you 'wet' enough, AstroGlide provides a simple and straightforward product that really is good for vaginal sex (note that I did not try it for anal sex, and it may be great for that as well, I just do not know from personal experience). I also would not recommend it for oral sex, simply because I accidentally licked a finger after applying the lubricant and it doesn't really have a taste to it. I have also tried their warming liquid, and it is a decent product. However, if your goal is to have a basic everyday lubricant to keep in your goodie drawer, this is the one to go with.
So if you are just looking for something to help make vaginal sex a little more slippery, this is a good basic lube. The small bottle is easy to use/distribute on either your hand or on the outside of a condom, and it lasts for quite some time. It does not have any awkward smells, and there is little to no cleanup (and it doesn't stain your sheets either). All in all, for the cost, the size, the use, and the effectiveness of this lubricant are great. Always remember to wear a condom!

Favorite lube?

I absolutely think astroglide is the best all-around lube on the market. Let me know what you think.

Quote: I absolutely think astroglide is the best all-around lube on the market. Let me know what you think.I would definitely agree with you there! I always used to use different KY ones and the occasional one from different surprise-party type companies, but there was always something about them that I hated. Finally I was introduced to astroglide and haven't used anything else since :D

Astroglide is ok, but I find it doesn't work that well for anal sex. I use Maximus for that, as I am naturally a wet person, and don't really need lube for anything else.

98 Reviews? Are You Serious???
-
Can you believe there are 98 reviews on Astroglide? I was just browsing through lubes and thought I might find a good one to review, and I saw that it had 98!!! No kidding, check the page! What do you think of this, folks? Are you as surprised as me?

Most likely because reviewers starting out have to review cheaper items first. I'd guess that lubes and massage balms/oils would be many reviewers' first picks since they'd want to buy the stuff anyway. :P

A lot of people use Astroglide, so it doesn't surprise me. I reviewed it myself :)

Thank you for viewing Astroglide – lubricant review page!

Astroglide is definitely better than KY products, but there are better lubes than Astroglide around as well. Have you tried any besides this and the KY products? Glad to hear that your ex-boyfriend was smart enough to pull in some help when things didn't get slick enough on their own. Thanks for the review.
