Anal lube by Cal Exotics - review by MikeyD

California Exotics does have a history of being completely hit or miss on their selection of toys but despite the toss up résumé, this is a clear-cut winner. For starters, the bottle itself is designed very well. They have stayed away from the awkward twist top and opted for a push in (which those of us who have fumbled with lube filled hands appreciate!). The bottle itself is also well-balanced and clear, which allows us to see how much we have left (another important thing if you're going to be using this for its *ahem* intended purpose).

Looks aside, this lube performs incredibly well. The first thing I noticed when I went to use this stuff was how thick it actually was. You honestly need to invert the bottle and shake the lube towards the top in order to squeeze some out. It will trap air bubbles (thick prehistoric ooze thick). The thick clear liquid does a very good job at staying where it is intended. I opted for the unscented variety although the Cherry seems to be the more popular of the two. My wife and I have not actually tasted it, but I imagine it isn't delicious. It seems to be very performance based, lasting longer than any other water based formula I have tried. I find it non-irritating in my ass and can't comment for the wife. I find it's equally suited for vaginal use as well, just obviously in less liberal quantities than you would use for anal. It should be safe to use on any toy or orifice you had in mind, although a caution is to dab a little in a spot that you don't use and leave it for a while to see if any lasting damage occurs—but let's face it, that's no fun.

Clean up is a breeze. Soap and water are all you should need, as with most water-based lubes. Obviously for that reason this is not suited for water play—look for a silicone lube if that's what you want.

One thing I am not happy about is the actual amount of force need to extract some lube after it starts to go past half. I actually applied so much force once I cracked the plastic bottle (no loss of contents, but makes you think twice).
