This Hybrid water & silicone lube is very user friendly and will appeal to many people who have allergies or other issues with most lubes. Encounter Silk leaves a soft silky but light feeling and lasts longer than most water based lubes. It cleans easily with water and leaves no residue on your skin. Great lubricant for everyone, just not every toy.

Use

Encounter Silk was a nice long-lasting lubricant for sexual intercourse, light clitoral stimulation and short term male solos. This lube is glycerin free, paraben free and vegan certified and should fit most people's preferences. I have to say it is a good fit for almost everyone.

Silk is a silicone/water based hybrid which makes clean up a breeze, leaves no residue on your skin and washes readily our of your hair with the first shampoo. (The hair was not intentional, I pushed my hair out of my face after applying some to my husband).

Silk is dispensed by its own pump top bottle. I had a bit of a time getting the pump started, but once it is full and flowing it was easy to use. The lube is a bit slippery and will run upon heating with your body. I does stay nicely in place once applied, though.

The lube leaves a nice silky and velvety feeling. It lasts about 30 minutes before reapplication is necessary. I did experience a slighty sticky like feeling but without the sticky threads and balls most lubes can leave on your skin. I loved the light texture and did not feel like I was drowning in lube.

Taste / Aroma

The Silk lubricant is entirely odor free. I pumped the lube on my finger and could not detect any odor, even after rubbing it and letting my skin heat it up, there was still no odor. This was a great surprise since many lubes have a distinct and slightly unpleasant aroma.

The taste was fairly unpleasant, kind of a bitter and odd flavor. Yes, I tasted this prior to use. My mouth had a funny coating until I took a drink of water. That removed the coating and flavor of the lube immediately.

Performance

The lube lasted particularly well during intercourse, about 30-45 minutes. However for soloing, both his and hers, it was needing to be reapplied every 20-30 minutes. I did not like it combined with my toys, I like a slightly heavier and wetter feeling since we usually play for hours.

The clean us was excellent, just water will remove the excess, most of it is readily absorbed, but soap and water was my main source of clean up. It shampooed out of my hair with the first shampooing and did not leave any residues that are very common with silicones. I am really liking the water and silicone hybrids.

DO NOT USE WITH OTHER SILICONE PRODUCTS.

I was pretty impressed with this lube when we started using it a week ago, but since then I have really noticed a few things that has lowered my opinion. After a couple of applications during penetration, I started getting a raw feeling, like you do when there is no lube applied. We over-applied it and had the same experience. I had to wait a couple days to heal and we tried it again with the same results. We usually have actual intercourse for an hour to two hours at a time with some small breaks. The results of the lube could have been a reaction of my body to it, the lube doesn't hold up very well or it could be from our positions and normal activities. Most lubes hold up pretty well for us, so I am going to let you make up your mind on what the issue could be.
