ID Frutopia - water based lube by I-D Lubricants - review by Girly Juice

ID Frutopia is a flavoured lubricant designed to enhance the experience of oral sex or any other sexual activity you want to involve your mouth in. It comes in a variety of fruity flavours; the one I tried is the mango kind. It's water-based, so you can use it with condoms or silicone toys if you want to.

Because Frutopia contains glycerin, I don't recommend using it for cunnilingus. Glycerin can cause yeast infections in people with vaginas.

The Frutopia lube has a very nice texture. It's on the runnier side of the water-based lube spectrum, and gets even runnier when you put your wet mouth on it. I find that its texture makes it a good choice for a handjob before a blowjob.

The lube gets very, very sticky when it starts to dry down, so you'll want to have some wet wipes or a damp washcloth nearby, or just get up and wash your hands before transitioning to another activity.

Left alone, the lube dries down in 3-4 minutes or so - but since it's flavoured and you'll have your mouth all over it, this isn't really a big deal.

The mango flavour can be smelled from a distance of a few feet away, which I found very impressive. It's very pleasant and authentically mango-esque.

Many flavoured lubes have the problem of tasting more like a medicinal or watered-down version of the flavour they're trying to embody, but this lube actually tastes like mango. The taste hangs around for quite a while and makes giving blowjobs much more enjoyable.

The Frutopia lube only stays wet for a few short minutes, unless you're re-lubricating it with saliva regularly (which, given that it's a flavoured lube, you probably are). After that, it gets sticky like any other water-based lube.

You'll probably want to wash or wipe off your hands if you get Frutopia on them, because a) they'll be very sticky after a few minutes and b) this isn't a lube that you want to get near a vulva, especially if said vulva's owner is prone to yeast infections.

The lube comes off easily with a little soap and water. I didn't notice any residue left behind, but my hands continued to smell like mango for hours afterward.

Frutopia lube comes in a generously-sized pump-top bottle with a cute, colourful label that displays the name of the flavour. I like this bottle a lot because it seems to provide the optimum amount of lube in only one or two pumps, without spilling or squirting messily.

I'm annoyed that this product contains glycerin, and therefore can't be used for cunnilingus. For this reason, I can't give it the full five stars, even though it's easily the best flavoured lube I've tried (better than O'My and Swiss Navy, both of which were much stickier and didn't have as true a flavour). Let me know when a company makes a decent flavoured lube that won't give me a terrible infection of any kind!
