Mood lube 5 pack - lubricant discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by Airen Wolf

I have come to really like the "mood" line from Doc Johnson. This line has a touch of everything for the toy box from wand style massagers to tiny little bullets this line has it all. One of the best ideas the company had was to put out a line of lubes that will perfectly suit the needs of toy users who might need some lube suggestions!

Enter the Mood Lube 5 pack that comes in a light weight plastic case that can be used, indeed probably should be used, to store the little 1 oz. bottles of lube. The bottles are made of clear plastic that is recyclable, easy to squeeze, and hold the lube without leaking very well. The design flaw is the flattened shape that makes it hard to get the bottles to stand up on a bedside table or dresser top. One small bump and they keel over like drunken soldiers! Still, if you take out the paper insert you can use the packaging to store the bottles easily and securely.

The tops on the bottles are flip top and easy to manage with lube slick fingers. They need to be firmly closed, however, or they will leak. The tops make a popping sound when they are secure. If you store them in the plastic case, and the bottles should leak, the plastic will contain the lube and prevent a mess on your table tops!

This kit offers five types of lube with pretty mild and common ingredients. The five types are: Sensitive, Water Based, Tingling, Silicone, and Warming. They are all clear, don't have any flavor added and are not meant to be licked. They are condom safe and didn't irritate my sensitive lady bits. These lubes are fairly runny but not outrageously so. I don't use them for anal play because they are a bit too thin but vaginal play is great. They are, with the exception of the Silicone variety, water based and good for use with all toys.

These lubes are non-staining, do not flake and leave a weird residue as they dry and seem to last a fairly long time without reapplication. They all wash clean away with soap and water.

The sensitive formula is very mild but also a bit on the thin side. I had to use more than I normally do but I didn't require a reapplication. Honestly, while it didn't irritate me it really didn't impress me much either. I suppose if you have REALLY sensitive lady bits this might be a welcome lube.

The water based formula is also a bit thin but it is your basic run of the mill water based lube. It works and works well but it's not going to offer any surprises or make your sex experience memorable in itself.

The silicone formula, like the water based one, is your basic run of the mill good little silicone lube. It's a bit on the thin side but works well for mild anal play and definitely well for vaginal play. It is mild and didn't irritate my skin in the slightest. It washed cleanly away, but I used a toy wipe and didn't feel the immediate need to shower after using it.

The tingling formula is water based and has a lightly minty fragrance. The fragrance is actually VERY slight and the tingling feeling is super subtle. This isn't a lube that will chill your bits like you're outside in the snow but it does provide a nice sensation of cooling. This is not a flavored lube and it has a kind of nasty taste. It is also a bit on the thin side but does the trick rather well.

The warming formula is very subtle and perfect for sensitive players who are looking for a touch of sensation but not wanting to be burned. The sensations began just as I was beginning to blow this lube off and the subtle warmth did provide an interesting change to our normal routine. It didn't irritate my bits or Sigel's bits and the effect didn't last overly long. I would say after about 30 minutes or so we could still feel the lube working properly but the warming sensation had dissipated.

Given that this kit is built to be user friendly, toy friendly, and is recyclable I recommend it for anyone who is looking for a good set of lube choices to just sort of spice up the bedroom. This would be good for travel as the entire kit can fit easily in an overnight bag or a purse.

The packaging isn't terribly subtle but then again who doesn't expect to see a couple of lube bottles sitting in a bedroom these days? In either case it is easy enough to toss the entire package in a sock drawer or bedside table for discretion.
