Creamy white and smooth as silk!
I have been using this lube for years, and I swear by it. I love the creamy, cum-like texture, and find that it doesn't really great sticky, even with prolonged use. I only wish the snap-top 50 ml bottle was available!Published: January 1, 2012
Pros:
Silky, creamy texture, non-sticky, long-lasting, wonderful glide
Cons:
Contains parabens, unpleasant taste, pump bottle isn't portable.
This lube turns me on. I have been using it for over 10 years, and I never get sick of it. I admit that part of the appeal is that it's creamy white and looks like cum (though it doesn't smell or taste like it), so the visual effect of squirting it onto breasts or genitals is very arousing to me. I love the texture too- it's very slippery smooth and long lasting, and I find it never gets sticky. Like all water based lubricants it will start to dry out eventually, but you can simply apply more or add a few drops of water. I don't find that I need a ton of this lube for it to be effective.
Ingredients:
Highly Purified Water, Propylene Glycol, Isopropyl Palmitate, Dimethicone, Cellulose Polymer, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate NSE, B.N.P.D, Di Sodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methyl Paraben, Butyl Paraben, Ethyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, BHT
Liquid silk is water-based, so it works well with all types of toys, for vaginal or anal sex (though I think it's not the platonic ideal of anal lubes since it's not super thick). It does have a silicone component (dimethicone), but I have not experienced that it has harmed my silicone toys. It does contain parabens, which are a problem for some people, but this lube has never been irritating or made me more prone to infections.
The smell is almost non-existent, almost a little like white glue. The taste is a little sweet and a little bitter, not really recommended for oral, but pretty standard for the course. I wish Eden Fantasys sold the snap-top mini 50ml bottle of it, because while the pump-top 250 ml bottle is convenient for bedroom use, it's impossible to take with you to a party or your lovers house- too much potential for leakage.
I will probably keep using this lube for as long as they continue making it!

Still loving this one! My container is only about 1/3 full now, since this is my go-to! I may try Sliquid Silk next time just to compare (they are supposedly similar) but I will most definitely order this lube again.

i get the impression that this is crap......

Liquid Silk's not a bad lube, but "crap" or "awesome" depends a lot on what you want out of your lube. Like, do you want one for anal play or vaginal? For shower play? Are you a stickler for healthy ingredients?

It wasn't bad, but Alan and Michele have a point. What are you trying to get out of the lube?

Liquid Silk and Silicone Toys
-
So, while looking through highly rated water based lubes, I came across Liquid Silk. Aside from the bitter taste, no one seems to have any complaints.
However, I noticed that the fourth ingredient is Dimethicone - and I was wondering what everyone's experience with this and silicone sex toys was? Is the silicone in Liquid Silk a small enough portion that it has no effect on toys, or is it generally not recommended for that type of play?
Or does the bonding potential of silicone lubes have more to do with the type/quality of silicone than anything else? -
That's a really good question because Dimethicone is a silicone.
Basically it should be ok to use as long as the toy is made of medical grade silicone. There should, in theory, be no reaction. I, personally, wouldn't want to test that out on my own toys though. You can do a patch test on a small part of the toy. The reaction should be immediate if there is going to be one.
Anyone else know about this? -
I have had liquid silk react to a silicone toy. Which sucks because I love it. :(
