Doesn't Live up to the Hype...In My Opinion

All in all, when I first started using this lube I was really pleased with the texture and feel. Unfortunately, the fast drying time took away from those great qualities.

Use

I purchased this lube to use with silicone toys as my regular silicone based lube is not compatible with them. It dries MUCH faster than my silicone lube, but I have to have a water based lube on hand so I view it as a necessary evil. I just wish water based lubes could stay slick as long as other lubes. The fast dry time is definitely my biggest complaint with this product, but I am assuming this may be an issue with all water based lubes.

On the other hand, a definite plus is that this lube has no scent, and the pump style dispenser is really convenient to use.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

I really like the texture of this lube...before it dries up. It is very slick and silky and does not feel sticky at all. It definitely does the job for about five minutes or so, and then I need to re-apply it.

Taste / Aroma

As I mentioned above, this lube is unscented. That is a huge plus for those who are easily distracted or turned off by certain scents or who are sensitive to scents in general.

I have not tasted this lube so I cannot provide feed back on that aspect of it.
    • No smell

Performance

The lube lasts about five minutes before drying up. This is the biggest downfall as I am used to silicone based lubes that last over 20 minutes without drying up. At least this lube is not sticky after it dries, and it does not really leave any residue. You will just find yourself re-applying it a few times in one session which can become quite distracting.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Dries up too fast

Packaging

The packaging for this lube makes it very convenient to use with the pump dispenser. It is easy to dispense just the right amount quickly and easily. I wish more lubes came with pump dispensers like this one.

The packaging is also very sleek; I really like the minimal design of the logo.

Yeah, I disagree with the reviewer. Maximus is my go-to lube. It's plenty thick. If it dries out while you're using it, just refresh it with a spritz of water

If you're not a fan of Maximus, why not try Sliquid's Sassy? It's a thick water based lube, and I find it's perfect for anal, and lasts fairly well without needing to reapply.

Pixel, thanks for the suggestion! JR, I do like the texture and thickness of the lube, the drying out and having to reapply is what annoyed me about it.

    • I know most people absolutely love this lube, but when I try to use it, it feels like my genitals are on fire! Could it be due to the parabens? Any thoughts, or any recommendations for another thicker water-based lubricant?
    • I'm not sure if it's kosher to mention a competitor's product here, but BabeLube is a wonderful water-based lube that's comparable in thickness to Maximus.
    • Maximus is my go-to lube. I have very sensitive skin and have never had a problem with it.

    • Two negative things I've seen written are that it has a bitter aftertaste and it does peel off, dry, and need to be washed off.

      Positives and opposites I've heard are that it has a natural tasteless feel similar to saliva, and it is a thicker lubricant. Also the pump looks like a great feature that makes this product less messy.

      I would like to try it for myself, and wonder if it is really the go-to lube for me, and for others like me.
    • This is my favorite water-based lube, hands down and without a doubt. It's pretty thick (ideal for backdoor fun). I've fallen asleep with it on my hands and don't wake up with fuzzy or sticky palms (until they get wet, then it reactivates).

      Maximus is my go to lube, rarely use anything else. It is slightly bitter but not bothersome. It is thicker and also works very well for anal. I never feel the need to wash it off unless I overdue in the heat of passion.
      Try it! Don't think U will be disappointed....:)

    • Does Maximus come in any other size bottles? I feel like 8 oz. would be a lot for me to use before it goes bad. Also, it seems like a big bottle to store somewhere discrete.
    • It really isn't very big - I have mine it a bedside drawer. Maximus is so thick that you don't have to worry about it leaking unless you really press on the bottle. If my mind isn't playing tricks on me, the bottle is about 2-3/4" in diameter and 4-1/2 to 5 inches tall (including pump), and I think it's closer to 4.5

      I think mine's good to 2013 or something (I'm not at home now, but I can check later), so I wouldn't worry about it going bad
