Energizer Bunny of Lubricants

This lube has extreme lasting power—a little goes a long way. It comes with a convenient pump bottle and is very body safe. Overall, I am confident that this product is a good purchase for any EF shopper. However, I'm torn on the rating. It is absolutely a five-star product, but although this is a common problem, I'm rating it four stars for the slight bottle problem.

Use

MOIST silicone lube is very body safe, condom compatible, and an excellent choice both for couples or for masturbation. I suggest MOIST to all EF consumers; however, I highly recommend it to people with sensitive skin or allergies. My body is very particular, and I have had absolutely no problems or reactions. Compared to the many other lube options, I would venture to say this is one of the most body-safe choices on the market. Although this is a very versatile product, I prefer using it during solo play as opposed to during intercourse for two reasons. First, my partner and I often switch between oral and penetration. While silicone lube is long lasting and reduces friction, when used during oral it can leave an uncomfortable, thin coating in the mouth. Second, MOIST did not work well with a condom. During use, the silicone lube made the condom feel sticky. Our solution to this, however, was using both MOIST and Sliquid Sassy together, which worked fantastically. The water-based lube fixed the condom problem while MOIST reduced friction drastically.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

I squirted one pump of MOIST on my arm to test the viscosity, and although this is a very silly comparison, it has about the same consistency as ice cream melting down the side of a waffle cone. Okay, laugh—but that's my gender-neutral comparison, which only discriminates against vegans. Sorry, vegans. As a person who prefers more gel-like lubes, which stay put for a moment instead of recklessly dripping everywhere, I would appreciate this product having a thicker viscosity. Concerning texture, this lube never feels greasy or sticky, and after use it leaves the skin feeling smooth and moisturized. I have used this lube to reduce chafing, and I love how smooth it makes my skin.

Taste / Aroma

MOIST silicone lubricant is a clear, flavorless, and odorless lube. Although this lube has no taste or smell, I would not suggest using this before or during oral sex; although ingesting small amounts of silicone is not harmful, it is not necessarily healthy either. Also, it leaves an uncomfortable coating on the tongue, lips, and teeth.

Performance

Unlike water-based lubes, silicone is not absorbed through the skin, which means this product will last for quite a significant amount of time. The longest I've used MOIST in one session was slightly short of one hour, and I only reapplied once, which I found quite impressive. On the flip side, because it is not absorbed, this must be washed away with soap and water. For women, silicone lubes will leave internal residue, which means you should wait a few days before using any silicone toys. This caution should be taken to prevent any chemical reactions between the lube and silicone toys. For a quick review of lube compatibility information, visit Dwtim's lube workshop.

Packaging

Waste not. While I enjoy aesthetically pleasing packaging as much as the next sex toy enthusiast, it has its place. Unless I am purchasing a luxury item, I prefer products to be delivered in a practical, eco-friendly manner, and Pipedream did just that. MOIST arrived neatly sealed in a small plastic bag, which prevented any lube residue from affecting the shipping box. This bag included the four-ounce bottle of MOIST, along with a small booklet containing information on the product use, ingredients, and compatibility.

The bottle itself is smooth black plastic with "Silicone MOIST, personal lubricant" written on the front in white lettering. Unlike Pink, this is very gender neutral and has no extra frills or fluff. Because this bottle is so simplistic, it can easily be left in a medicine cabinet or even with other cosmetics on a dresser while going completely unnoticed.

Special Features

The top two features I look for in lubes are body-safe ingredients and pump bottles. I am not a chemist, but this is my understanding of dimethicone-based silicone lubricants and their relation to safety and health. Dimethicone is a silicone polymer, which is considered safe for cosmetic use because the polymer is so large that it will not be absorbed through the skin. Not being absorbed is not only very body safe but also means one drop of MOIST will last and last without any reapplication. This extended slippery fun leads me to my next point: pump bottle tops!

Anyone with lube experience can sympathize with how frustrating slick hands and fingers can make using lube bottles; however, MOIST has a very convenient pump top that not only prevents lube from accidentally gushing, but it also makes dispensing easy. I'm SO happy with this.

Personal comments

My singular disappointment with this product is that it can leak—not much, but it's possible. Not only did the bottle arrive with a very thin coating of silicone lube, but if left on its side, very small amounts of lube will drip. This has not been a problem for me so far, but if it fell and was left for a few hours, it could cause a slight mess—not a leaky puddle of lube, but some drips that could potentially stain. That being said, it is my ONLY complaint.

Very detailed review! Wonderful I might give this one a try, but I'm iffy about using silicone lubes. :/

@Secret Toy Lover: This is my only silicone lube and I highly suggest it. This is absolutely fantastic mixed with water based lubes because it prevents the water based from becoming tacky. It also leaves skin so soft and moisturized.
