Liquid silk by Bodywise Limited

I have been raving about Maximus lubricant for what seems like ages now. It has been the product that changed my sex life forever. When I discovered that the makers of Maximus, Bodywise Limited, also made a lubricant called Liquid Silk I added it to my wish list without further ado. I read a couple reviews for it, and thought the promise of a natural feeling and long lasting lube sounded very nice, so I ordered it. Well, I’ve had my bottle of Liquid Silk for 4 months now, and I absolutely love it.

This lovely milky smooth lubricant is my favorite lubricant for penis to vagina intercourse. Natural lube has a fairly distinct feel to it, something that most lubes fail to truly mimic well. I’ve also noted that my own natural juices are not perfectly clear, but rather more silky looking, exactly like this lube. I can rub a little of this lube on my inner labia, and my husband honestly can’t tell that it’s not my natural lubricant. Heck, I can’t even tell the difference between this and my own natural lubricant from the feel of it. The consistency is more creamy than gel like, but it is thick enough that one pump does not run or drip.

The smell reminds me of a gentle soap, and the taste does too. Because the taste is not very good, I would recommend using a different lubricant for oral pleasuring. This lube is very long lasting, and I’ve never reapplied or added water to it during sex. I know one occasion where it lasted an hour. My husband and I were both quite spent, but I know this lube could have kept going. So why does this lube last so long in the absence of Glycerin? It contains Dimethicone. That’s right, this is not a simple water based lube, but a hybrid water based lube that also contains Silicone. Once dry, the only trace this lube leaves on skin is a silky soft feeling that has never been greasy.

The Full ingredient list: Highly Purified Water, Propylene Glycol, Isopropyl Palmitate, Dimethicone, Cellulose Polymer, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate NSE, B.N.P.D. Di Sodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methyl Paraben, Butyl Paraben, Ethyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, BHT.

Now because the fourth ingredient is silicone, I would advise against using this lube with toys not compatible with silicone lubes (this will not degrade condoms, so no worries there). I have avoided using it with my silicone toys, and I would recommend keeping it away from very delicate skin like materials as well. I still prefer Maximus for backdoor fun, but when it’s vaginal intercourse I always reach for my bottle of Liquid Silk.

The bottle is good sized at 8.45 FL.OZ, and it doesn’t take much to really get things good and wet, so don’t be put off by the price. I use mine often, and it has been lasting me very well. The pump top is very nice for getting lube without much fuss and it is easy to get the right amount because there is no chance of spilling. The pump top can be depressed and locked for travel, which is a nice bonus.

Clean up is easy, and I found a baby wipe to be quite adequate. There have been times I've just wiped off with the dry-ish "sex" towel, and was left with nothing icky on my skin. I've never needed to use soap to aid in clean up, even with the silicone, as it dries up so incredibly well.

I would highly recommend this lube to everyone. I really can’t say enough good things about it. The feel is just amazing, and it is long lasting to boot. Everyone should try a water/silicone hybrid lube at least once, I’m glad I did.
