Gets the job done!

ID glide has my vote for a decent all-around lube for solo fun. This product is affordable for the quantity supplied, and ID glide should last you a good 6 months in my experience before having to order another bottle.

Use

Although I have only used ID glide for solo play, obviously it could be used when additional lubrication is needed on/with your partner. I have used it for male masturbation, male sleeve fun and for anal toys. From the label, the product states that it is safe with latex and polyurethane condoms and can be applied to both the inner tip and the outer surfaces of the condom for increased stimulation. To my knowledge, I believe it should be compatible with pretty much any type of toy/material. But since it is water based, it will not work well in the shower or near any other water. Most people should know already, but this product is not a contraceptive and should not be used as one. As well as stating the obvious, if irritation occurs, discontinue the use of the product.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

ID glide has a smooth feeling to me, and do not feel it as being too thick. Although the product label states that ID glide can be reactivated with a few drops of water, I do not find this to be the case. I prefer to reapply a few drops of the lube rather than adding water into the mix. ID glide tends to get somewhat sticky, so I would suggest a clean-up afterwards with a wash-cloth and/or shower.
    • Smooth
    • Sticky

Taste / Aroma

ID glide is unflavored, fragrance-free and non-staining. Although I have never tasted it, I am going out on a limb and stating that I would probably not want to taste it if oral is involved. I have never really noticed a scent from this lube while using it.
    • Bad taste
    • No smell

Performance

Although this was my first lube purchased from EF and have nothing else to compare it to, it just plain and simple gets the job done. ID glide feels amazing solo with toys, and would imagine enhances the experience when making love with your partner if you need additional lube.

I received my first 5.5 oz bottle about 6 months ago and I am on my second bottle now. It would be impossible for me to count the number of times this product has helped when I needed it for solo fun. On average, a pretty small amount (maybe about 5 to 6 good drops) is needed for me, even for anal fun.

As mentioned before for clean-up, I would recommend having a wash-cloth handy and/or jump in the shower afterwards to wash the product off of your body as it tends to be a little on the sticky side. For the price, it will last you a while and is a great performer.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Long lasting
    • Needs to be washed off with soap and water

Packaging

Nothing too fancy with the packaging, it's lube! When I received ID glide from EF, it was rubber-banded around a plastic bag to prevent possible leaking while being shipped. The top of the product has a flip-top with a fairly small opening so as to not pour a ton on your preferred body area and/or toy. The flip-top tends to get sticky under the casing but can be easily washed off/wiped off with a wet paper towel or wash cloth.
    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Does not leak
    • Easy to use / dispense

Personal comments

Great performer and feels great for added stimulation when used for solo fun or with toys (both sleeves and anal toys). For the price, I find it economical and should last you a decent amount of time. Although this is the only lube I have tried, I would guess it would rank up there in the community as a go-to lube for solo or partner fun.
Follow-up commentary
ID Glide is still one of my favorite lube's I have tried and just plain and simple gets the job done. From manual stimulation, to cock toys and anal fun it feels great. I need to order some more, my stash is getting low!

thanks for sharing. We used this lube for a few years. It is a pretty good all around lube, nothing great but it did work.

  • I received a sample and want to make sure it's the real thing before writing a review.
    • I got this sample with a wholesale order:

Is this the one EF is selling in larger bottles, so can I review it?
    • It looks the same to me. If you're going to review it, do note that you have a smaller sample size tho.

I would mention that. It got pretty good ratings but it's like the worst thing I ever tried maybe 2/5. So not sure if it's just my personal preference or just plain different. Ingredients looks like the same tho. I read your durex warming review! I like that lube and use it to the day. This is far worse than that in terms of smell and performance. I got a premium silicone lube recently and I can finally understand why people gave 2/5 to the durex warming :) But I like it anyway, it's different. But made me realize what tacky really means and now I got a better picture.

  • Why is this product not sold in the same types of containers?
    • I am wondering why the different weights are sold in different containers. The 17.5 oz. container looks the best, but costs more. The 4 oz bottle looks weird, and I don't like it. They should be sold in same-looking containers. Any comments? Agreements?

I'd noticed that, too, and I think it's a bit odd. I think it'd be much better if they made them all the same as you suggested. I guess they figure they're just giving people a choice in the way the lube is disposed?

The Gun Oil lube bottles look pretty much the same except for size or if it has a pump. Personally it doesn't bother me what the bottle looks like. Some I am sure are easier to conceal in a pocket or purse for the purpose of travel. Others do to their size like the one I baught being 35 oz. looks like a shampoo bottle and you could probably have out in the open as long as someone didn't take to close a look at it. I am sure they had their reasons for making the bottles the way they did.
