Toko aroma formula - lubricant discontinued by Shunga Erotic Art - review by Hex

The Toko Aroma Formula is intended for vaginal (solo or couple) and oral play. I would not recommend it for anal play because the consistency is a little thick and it has a tendency to dry up fairly quickly and get sticky. It is water-based which means it is safe for use with condoms and silicone toys.

The texture of Toko Aroma is actually very pleasant at first. It is runny but not too runny; it is easy to get out of the bottle and doesn't get all over everything.

After a few minutes (and I literally mean a few minutes) it starts to get very sticky and rather unpleasant. This is really noticeable during oral play because you tend to get it all over your hands and face and my husband even says when it gets too sticky it doesn't feel nearly as good.

It has a moderate viscosity; it is nothing like water, but far from having a high viscosity.

The taste of this formula is outstanding. We purchased Strawberries and Champagne and while I am not exactly confident that it really tastes like strawberries and champagne it does smell like it and the taste is wonderful. The taste is not overbearing nor is it too sweet it is just a nice addition to some oral fun.

I would like to mention that too much use of this product in your mouth does eventually cause I kind of strange chemically taste in the foreground so avoid overuse.

The smell is fantastic it is not too overwhelming and adds a really nice scent to your sexual activities, whatever they may be. I have not tried any other scents/flavors but I can say that I was pleased with our choice.

Performance is not Toko Aroma's strong suite. The lube gets sticky extremely fast and needs almost constant reapplication, especially with oral play. I also suggest making sure you don't have any cuts or nicks on your mouth or nether region because it has a tendency to cause a slight burning sensation which is associated with the content of methylparaben. Some may have high allergies to this chemical and I suggest a skin test before applying a lot of Toko if you are not sure.

For solo play I found that the stickiness became more than annoying (I am a pretty heavy thruster so I naturally got quite a lot on my hand). I found myself stopping on occasion to clean off both my hand and the control panel on my toys.

The packaging is just the bottle. The bottle is quite beautiful and would make a good gift, especially as a set with some other Toko products as they generally have matching bottles and patterns. The art is in the back of the bottle so you are looking at it through the lube which I think is a nice touch.

The back of the bottle contains the ingredients: aqua, glycerin, propylene, glycol, hydroxyethylcellulose, aroma, PEG 5M, sucralose, and methyl paraben. Also a general information segment in multiple languages.

I personally love this lube aside from the fact that it gets sticky fast and needs constant reapplication.

In my experience I prefer this lube for couple's play and sex rather than for solo play. The fact that it gets sticky gets annoying fast.
