Has Been My Favorite Anal Sex Lubricant Since 2009!

Soothe is one of my favorite Intimate Organics products. It's an excellent anal lubricant, which is what it is designed for, but it's great at everything else too. It's organic formula makes it very safe for the body. It's thickness also make it stay put and it's easy to clean up.

Use

I am a huge fan of Intimate Organic products in general, but I especially like their lubricants. I have four of them and this is in my top two favorites. I've also got the Original, Defense, Melt, and Heal. The four together cover every usage and need possible and do so in a very safe way. Soothe is a lubricant specifically designed to make anal sex and play more pleasurable, easier, and pain free. I've had this lubricant for about 3 years now and it has never dissapointed. Sometimes you grab a certain lubricant thinking it can do the job, it doesn't, and you have to grab another. I've never had that issue with this lubricant. It always makes anal sex and play more enjoyable and works excellently in the shower! This bottle isn't very large, but a little goes a long way. I've used it many times and still have half a bottle after 3 years. It contains a lot of really awesome ingredients and is certified organic. This lubricant is water based so it can be used with any material of toys and it is safe for use with condoms. It's an anti-bacterial lubricant too...which is obviously great for the area it is being used in. It is not tested on animals, and it is vegan safe!

The ingredients are all certified organic and are as follows:

Aqua (Water), Glycerine (Plant Derived), Hydroxyethycellulose, Phenoxyethanol, Benzoic Acid, Phenethyl Alcohol, PPG-2 Methyl Ether, Methylisothiazolinone, Psidium Guajava Fruit Extract, Piper Methysticum Rhizome/Root Extract, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Sodium Hydroxide.

-Glycerine): type of carbohydrate that is derived from plant-based oils such as palm or coconut
-Hydroxyethycellulose: non-ionic, water soluble polymer used as a thickening agent
-Phenoxyethanol: organic chemical compound, a glycol ether
-Benzoic Acid: colorless crystalline solid and a simple aromatic carboxylic acid
-Phenethyl Alcohol: colorless liquid occurs widely in nature, being found in a variety of essential oils
-PPG-2 Methyl Ether: colorless liquids with a mild, pleasant odor
-Methylisothiazolinone: preservative
-Psidium Guajava Fruit Extract: antioxidant
-Piper Methysticum Rhizome/Root Extract: healing properties
-Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Extract: Fragrance
-Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract: healing and soothing properties
-Sodium Hydroxide: preservative

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This is a water based lubricant and is on the thicker side. The company claims that it stays put, and it totally does. It's thicker than my shampoo and takes a little while to run down the bottle when turned over. It's extremely smooth and not at all sticky, like ever! It almost feels a little like silicone. It spreads very easily and doesn't feel gross! It easily washes off and not a lot s needed. A large pea size will do.

Taste / Aroma

Like the other Intimate Organic lubricants, Sooth, has a very unique smell. It smells like roses. It's not for everyone, but I rather enjoy it. It's very natural smelling and not at all artificial. The smell lingers on the skin too which I don't mind at all. The label says that this is safe to ingest, but I wouldn't. If it is licked, it doesn't have a taste.

Performance

Soothe is made for use as an anal lubricant, but I've found that there really isn't anything it isn't good for. Of course it's especially good for anal sex. It's thicker and stays put and also doesn't feel gross! That's something that drives me nuts. If you're already worried about things potentially being gross, having a nasty lubricant slathered between your cheeks doesn't help matters! This lubricant makes anal sex easier with insertion and thrusting. It also has properties that help protect the sensitive skin. It also works excellently for anal toys, even those of really large ones. The fact that it's water based also makes it excellent for silicone toys. It won't ruin the material. It works well with lower quality materials like cyber skin as well. Some lubricant makes the material gummy. Not this one! It also lasts a really long time. I don't ever recall having to reapply this lubricant.

For vaginal sex it's great too! It feels natural, and again, not sticky or gross at all. It mixes very well with natural lubricants and washes off easily. It leaves the skin feeling soft and un-irritated. I feel that this lubricant makes sex more intimate. My partner feels the same way. It especially makes the use of condoms more enjoyable. The same is for toys. It works well for vaginal toys as well.

Packaging

The bottle is a hard and clear plastic. The label on the front has a sexy picture of a toned woman's torso on the front and says the company, name of the product as well as a certified USDA organic stamp. The bottle top opens like suntan lotion, push down to pop open. It hasn't leaked at all. I keep it in my shower. The bottle has clouded but the label is intact. The back has the ingredients and a blurb about the product. It's made in Canada. It also says that is it not tested on animals, is recyclable, and has an expiration date (on the box the bottle comes in). It says that it will expire in 03/2013 and was manufactured 03/2010. You need to use about a pea size for average use, so the 4 fluid ounce bottle should last a while. I have the 2 ounce bottle. It looks like travel shampoo so it is relatively discreet.
    • Does not leak
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Very informative packaging

Follow-up commentary
Guess what...this is STILL my favorite anal lubricant. I am severely sad to see that it is discontinued. If you have not tried it yet, you must!
