Healthier Choice

If you're wanting to stick to a healthy, organic lubricant look no further. Its texture is appealing and it will either absorb into the skin or wash off easily.

It's a little limited in its use, but it works great with toys and it will support your body with revitalizing, natural ingredients.

Use

If you're one of the people seeking a more natural and perhaps even healthier all purpose lubricant, this is probably the one for you. It's glycerin, petroleum, and paraben free in favor of more organic/vegan ingredients like plant cellulose, vitamin E, and purified water. In fact, there is a whole list of impressively organic ingredients on the back of the bottle where you would normally see a list of chemicals you can't pronounce.

For people like me who have sensitive skin, this is a great lube. It's hypoallergenic and its white, smooth texture is not especially greasy and, unlike some lubes, it won't leave a stain on your linens. At first you might even confuse this lube for an organic lotion with a very subtle and unoffensive scent.

This lube is best suited to the bedroom or, at the very least, a dry environment. Being water based and water soluble, sex in the shower, tub or any other fun aquatic environment will render this lube useless. This lube is perfect for the use of toys that penetrate. Due to its mainly chemical-free nature it poses no danger to the materials that any dildos and "flesh" textured vibrators are made out of. There is a very minor amount of silicone in it and, while it's always best not to use silicone lubes with silicone toys because one can degrade the other, we've never had a problem, probably due to how little there is. I would easily recommend this lube for toys, from dildos to masturbation aids like pocket pussies, and other gems like the Tenga Egg. My husband and I use this lube exclusively with Tenga Eggs and the combo makes his climax so easy it's almost like cheating.

So here's the part that surprised me; in my experience, most water based lubes absorb quickly into the skin and therefore don't last as long as other lubes during prolonged use without fairly regular application. This lube sets itself apart from the others in that regard. It's silky, creamy, and will keep up with you during hours of vaginal sex. It wouldn't be my first choice for anal sex because it applies very thin and doesn't provide the security of a heavier gel base for that activity.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

We love the texture of Sliquid, and it's something akin to a slightly watered down lotion. It pours from the bottle with no issues and maintains contact with the skin without dripping off or dripping where it won't be used. It's silky and smooth, and doesn't have that annoying sticky feel that some organics and synthetics alike can have. Like a lotion, it's a thicker, creamier substance, but the heavy water base helps it apply in a way that doesn't feel like you're basting with heavy whipping cream.

Taste / Aroma

Taste? Well it's not designed as a flavored lube so I never thought to taste it. We all know that just because it's not meant to be tasted doesn't mean your mouth won't come in contact with it eventually as you change positions or activities. I still wasn't willing to taste it, but as fortune would have it I have a fearless husband who isn't afraid to try things for reasons any better or worse than needing to know. So, to my surprise, he popped the cap just now, dabbed a bit on his finger and down the hatch. So, thanks to this unexpected development, I can relate to you all that there is little to no taste whatsoever. What little taste he did detect he claimed was not really comparable to anything, but wasn't offensive at all. So that's a plus.

Scent? I would describe as the very minor afternotes of something lightly botanical. There are no heavy, lingering chemical odors and it also doesn't smell like you're lubing up with a rose garden. I should also point out that you are unlikely to even detect the scent unless you stick your nose into the bottle.

Performance

Sliquid lasts better than I expected and longer than most comparable water based lubricants. I can report a little over an hour of performance under fairly aggresive sex before we needed to re-apply, and the texture in use is very natural feeling. Clean up is simple; a quick rinse, lather, repeat, and it's off with no residue, which I love. On occasion we've used it and it's absorbed so well that it didn't really need to be cleaned off at all. The only negatives I can report is that if I don't begin sex with the lube in use, it can sting a bit if I get torn. Also, its use is limited to dry environments as I stated above, so no shower or tub sex with this lube. You'd just be wasting it.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural
    • Long lasting

Packaging

The Sliquid we bought came in a small 4.2 fl oz bottle with a snap up top that keeps its seal well, and it is easily manipulated one handed. The nozzle will probably need to be wiped down after you close it due to a smear of run off, but it's a creamy substance so that's probably unavoidable. There were no instructions but lets face it, it didn't really need any. What I enjoyed most about the bottle was the list of organic ingredients and a statement of "NO Animal Testing".

Without giving the bottle a very serious look over it would be easily confused for hand cream. It's small, travel friendly, and I could even carry it my purse for spontaneous use with little fear that it would draw attention if seen.

Keeping with the organic mindset of this product, it is 100% recyclable and printed on the bottle is even a request that you do so.
