Have you ever been curious what a cooling lubricant can do? Have you heard about California Fantasies Cooling Jel? Well, here's the answer to both questions. Cooling Jel is a water based lubricant. The formula of this lubricant is thicker than most other lubricants. It gives a cooling sensation like some cooling gels. The lube comes in a 4 ounce bottle.

Lubricants can be used by both ladies and guys, even a cooling lubricant. If you're looking for that something extra to mix things up, you have found it in Cooling Jel. Don't mistake the word Jel to mean Gel. This is not a Gel. Gels are typically thicker than lubricants and usually a small, and I mean small, amount is used during any play time with a Gel. With a lubricant, typically, more of the product is used. And this is true in this case with this cooling lubricant.

What is a water based lubricant you ask? Well, we all know lubricants are used when our special parts are on the dry side. They reduce the friction of foreplay, intercourse, masturbating, when playing with vibrators or dildos, and during anal play. They ease penetration and create a smooth and easy thrusting experience. A water based lubricant is water soluble. That is, it can be dissolved in water. Some of the properties of water based lubricants are what make them highly desired. They are designed to spread easily and evenly, and help to retain moisture in our special parts. Because our body absorbs them, reapplication is usually necessary.

There are all kinds of lubricants: water based, silicone, oil, and organic, are just some of them. These are the most common sexually used lubricants. Each one is specially formulated for specific uses. Water based lubricants are the most commonly used ones. Plus they are kind and friendly to all our vibrator and dildo material. Then there are the lubricants with added qualities such as Cooling Jel.

Cooling Jel does exactly what the name suggests. It brings a cooling sensation to the "party". It can be used to mix things up, bring something different to various types of play time. Just a little something different that changes everything. The cooling agent adds a bit of arousing tingle not otherwise experienced during any sexual activity. It can bring delightfully exquisite stimulation through the use of our hands, a penis, or our vibrators and dildos. And what about having more intense orgasms - yeah baby!

The formula of Cooling Jel is of a thicker viscosity than all the lubricants I've used. That's not to say that there aren't other lubricants just as thick or even thicker. I found the viscosity to be quite thick. When I squeezed a good size amount on my finger, I held it up vertically to see how it might run down my finger. It didn't. It stayed right where I applied it to my finger.

When I took a wiff of Cooling Jel, it had a cinnamon, menthol, waxy kind of scent. When I tasted it, well that's another story. I tasted a minty flavor of sorts with a bit of after-taste. And, it certainly was a most cooling sensation I experienced on my tongue and lip. Yes, I got some on my lip, unintentionally, of course. I tend to do that with anything wet, like paint, for instance, too. Yeah, I guess I just can't help myself. It was quite a refreshing and okay experience Be sure to not get any of the lubricant in you eyes or ears, though. Thankfully I avoided that mishap unlike other incidences of some past experiments. I would not use the lube with oral sex.

Here is a list of the ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Glycol, Castor Oil, Cellulose, Carbomer, Peppermint Oil, Menthol, Polysorbate, Triethanolamine,Sodium Bezoate, Potassium Sorbate. I know that glycerin and menthol are of concern to some people. If you have reactions to these materials, I suggest you do a small skin test to see how your skin reacts. If you have a reaction of any kind, I'm sure you will want to not use Cooling Jel. Or you just may not want to take the risk and not use it at all which is certainly understood.

The use instructions state to use a small amount and reapply as needed. Well, "small amount" and "as needed" are all relative, aren't they? I highly recommend you really start out with a small amount to see how it feels for you. You can always apply more. Remember, you want a cooling experience with Cooling Jel lubricant.
Experience
My experiment with Cooling Jel is a 2 part story. One part was using it with my favorite vibrators - yup, more than one. ooohhh, that means I was happily busy for some time. The second story was with my fingers. I unfortunately, don't have "his" fingers or penis - YET, to share an experience.

I took a small dab of lubricant on my finger and rubbed it together with another finger to test how it felt and it's cooling sensation. It felt nice and slippery. I rubbed between those 2 fingers till it was dried before applying to my body. I found it dried quite nicely with no sticky residue. In fact, there was no touch of film on my fingers at all, nor did it leave any stains on my bed. There was a slight tingly sensation on my fingers. Then I applied a small amount of Cooling Jel to the inside of my forefinger about 1/2 the size of a dime to test the consistency. I held my hand up horizontally for 30 seconds and the lube only slid down to the next finger without running any further down. A nice thickness. And my finger was left with as cool tingly sensation.

Using my fingers on my clit with a small amount of Cooling Jel about 1/3 the size of a dime. I rubbed and stimulated my clit for awhile. It was a wonderful experiment of arousing stimulation without the need to apply more lubricant. Unfortunately, I forgot to look at the time when I started my self-pleasuring, or "experiment" should I say. So, I had to "experiment" again. Oh such a problem, huh. Well, this time around I found I didn't need to reapply either because, my oh my, it was for only 5 minutes. I repeated the "experiment" taking the lube inside myself. I worked my vag and g-spot for 20 minutes with no need to reapply.

Now, I was ready to use my favorite vibrators. Oh, the vibrator felt so good on my clit. Hm, after several seconds I noticed the cooling sensations weren't as strong as when I used my fingers. I wanted to "experiment" vaginally now. With about 1/2 dime size dollop of Cooling Jel, a medium strength vibrator slid in so easily. Hm, again I noticed within seconds a decrease in cooling sensation than with my fingers. Not a lot, just noticeable. I really don't know how to explain this or even understand why this happened. I pleasured my vag and g-spot for 30 minutes and found no need to reapply the lubricant. And when done with all my play time, I found there was no need to clean up anything but my vibrators.
Follow-up commentary
Cooling Jel lube is great. I really find the cool tingling sensations stimulating. I've gotten used to vibrator stimulation vaginally while using it too. It's still sensational on my clit. I don't know if a cooling lube is supposed to have the same effects as a cooling gel. But I do know I find the Jel to usually be more stimulating than the gel I use.
