High Quality, High Price

Pjur Aqua is a solid lube offering many of the features you'd want from a water-based lubricant: it lasts, doesn't have a taste, doesn't have an odor, and its lubrication properties are similar to natural body fluids. For me, it isn't worth the premium price (though I think Pjur's Silicone lubes are worth it), but I do think people who are trying to find their perfect lube should give this one a try.

Use

Pjur Aqua water-based lube is pretty versatile and as a water-based lube, it's compatible with all toys. It isn't terribly thick, which works well for masturbation and vaginal use. There is no glycerin in the ingredient list which I find to be important for vaginal use as some people find glycerin promotes bacterial/yeast infections. While I find it sufficient for anal play, some people may prefer a thicker lube that has more body.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

I consider Pjur Aqua have a medium thickness. It is very slippery and a bit runny, but not as thin as water. Its consistency is similar to that of pre-cum, though a bit thinner, and it does not have as much body. It works well for masturbation and vaginal intercourse because it isn't so thick it's to the point where it removes sensation the way a creamy lubricant would.

Taste / Aroma

This lube is fairly neutral. There isn't any particularly strong scent or taste. It's there and does its job as a lube without getting in the way of other fun time activities.
    • No smell

Performance

Pjur Aqua lasts on the longer side for water-based lubes. It doesn't last as long as silicone-based lubes, but it also doesn't evaporate in minutes like some lubes do. It is worth noting that when it does evaporate, it does not leave a gooey, sticky mess.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural
    • Long lasting

Thank you for the review. It's nice to know this one doesn't leave a gooey, sticky mess.

    Thanks Wicked and Rossie

Rossie, I'm currently using Slippery Stuff, and on the residue side, that one is the best I've used. I can use a ton in in my super low humid area (ie, have to keep re-applying since it is so darn dry) and no residue at all!. I need to compare the ingredient lists of these two vs one I got from Adam Eve which I found to be horrible in this regard.

Hey, did you know Slippery Stuff was originally made to help people get into their diving suits? Just some of the random trivia I am full of, lol. SSAF, it would be helpful in your reviews to mention comparisons between other products you've tried and the one you are reviewing (like you mentioned in your comment here). Maybe in your follow-up you can add the differences between the products you mentioned and see if you can tell us anything about what ingredient(s) might be causing the residue issue for you. It's a problem for many people and any added info is always helpful.

It's good that hear that it doesn't leave a gooey mess. We've only tried Maximus and Liquid Silk so far.

As WW mentioned it would be useful to draw some comparisons on how Aqua lube performed against Slippery Stuff. You know, like a science experiment. Aqua and Slippery Stuff are suppose to be among the best when it comes to lubes.

We'll would be interested in reading about Slippery Stuff. We'll be in the market for some lubricant soon.

Thank you for the review !

I'm looking to actually do a comparative review (pics, science and all that jazz!) as soon as I collect some more. Right now, I just have 3 different lubes. I need to get a sample pack :-D

I look forward to your comparative review(s)!! Bring on the science!

Right now I have been using Fist Powder which I have to make per use with an immersion blender. But oh my, can you make the viscosity to your liking and it is not difficult to clean up like the other veterinary brand that requires table salt. I have tried most of the lubes and I have reactions to everything, so I was looking for something water-based (I prefer the cushion and more realistic feel of them compared to silicone which I don't react to, but is too thin and not as comfortable, no matter how thick the bottle says it is, or how much I use) without any preservatives and I think I have a winner, but I need to see for sure. You can refrigerate your batch, but it doesn't last long. I accidentally made too much the first time and so I have the extra in the freezer and I'll have to thaw it and see if it affected the consistency at all. I would highly recommend Fist Powder (I bought at Fort Troff) for any anal play though I have not tried it for that since I am a somewhat hesitant newbie to anything anal, hah!

A pro is listed as no glycerine, but it's second on the ingredients list?
