I Guess the Pee Smell is Fitting

I found that the best use for this balm was not on the external vulva but on the inner labia and closely surrounding area. This oil based balm made for a naturally moist feeling, but on the outside sometimes stayed gummy. For my purposes, this worked fairly well and I am glad I invested the pretty pennies in it, but wish I had chosen a different fragrance.

Use

As a woman, there are a few bones I have to pick with mother nature. For one, the period thing isn't cool. But the after math of it isn't great either. During that time of month, even though typically 2 days long, tampons can soak up all my lovely natural lubricants. I was in search of a serum that would restore moisture in a natural feeling way while my body caught up and something that would make my lips feel even more like baby butt skin. I stumbled upon the Sensuous Beauty line and found this Vulva Balm. It claims to help with dryness due to menopause or other hormonal shifts and can be used as a lubricant. I decided to give this a try. While I am glad I did, I wish I had chosen a different scent.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This is an oil based balm. This means that it cannot be used with condoms or rubber/latex type materials. The ingredients are as follows: Organic sunflower oil, beeswax, wildcrafted cocoa butter, vitamin E, jasmine absolute and pure sandalwood essential oil

The nature ingredients are very safe for the body. This balm is also free of so many harmful additives that are in many lubricants and serums. It is L-Arginine, petro-chemicals, parabens, and glycerin free.

The oil is a solid, but when it is put on the finger it feels more like a liquid like massage oil. It also kind of feels like a lip balm or gloss. It feels slick and slightly greasy between the fingers. But like most oils, if given time to dry and be absorbed some, it then feels smoother.

Taste / Aroma

I opened the jar and immediately smelled urine. Seriously, this smells like pee! I actually gagged. GAGGED (insurance commercial anyone?). This comes in three different fragrances and I chose Gypsy Jasmine. Since I have never tried anything by this company, I pretty much chose at random. Horrible decision. There is a hint flower petals, but I cannot get over the weird urine smell. Thank god the smell doesn't linger forever and that my partner has a low sense of smell. I have not noticed any taste to it and neither has my partner when giving oral. I would love to get this again and try a different fragrance.

Performance

To use, you just use a finger or two to sweep the surface like you would lip balm. Since the jars top isn't very wide, you'll need to do this many times to cover the entire vulva and other areas. It doesn't spread very easily so it can take a bit of time. Initially any outside areas of the vulva will feel kind of gummy but with a few minutes of dry time, it absorbs more and makes the area feel hydrated. I liked using it on my inner labia better though. It provided a feeling of natural moisture during those 2 days that I am without my usual abundance of natural juices. It isn't messy in the slightest and can be removed easily with soap and water if you want to have sex with a condom.

My partner and I did not like this as a lubricant. We didn't see how it could be one, without using a ton of this stuff. We then tried to just apply it and mix with our natural juices, but that didn't seem to make a difference. So, we don't waste any of this awesome balm on being a lubricant. I also liked that my partner couldn't taste it if he decided to perform oral. I want to mention, that for me, this product didn't produce a huge difference that my partner noticed without me asking. It was more for personal comfort and it worked well for this. I applied it once a day and it seemed to keep the moisture and softness throughout the day.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural
    • Needs to be washed off with soap and water

Packaging

I love the packaging. The balm comes in a pretty and very nice glass jar with a screw top. The jar is 1.25 fluid ounces which doesn't seem like much, but this stuff goes a long way. I've been using it almost daily for about a month. The jar is about 1/8 of the way gone. So this would last you over a year if you used it on an occasional basis. The top and sides of the jar have pretty green and cream colored labels that had the ingredients and use instructions. In small letters it says Sensuous Beauty-Vulva Balm. The jar itself is very discreet and small in size (about the size of a liquid foundation) so it would probably go unnoticed among other toiletry items. The glass does make it heavy though, so keep this in mind when traveling with small bags.
    • Does not leak
    • Would make a nice gift

Experience

I am giving this 3 stars because of the weird scent, the fact that it is not safe for use with condoms, and that it takes a while to dish out. I also feel that it worked much better on the inner labia than it did on the external Vulva where it sometimes remained gummy feeling instead of smooth. I love the ending result though. It isn't something that will turn beef jerky into a fluffy muffin, but it will make already soft skin feel rejuvenated.
Follow-up commentary
Because this balm has gotten a LOT softer and easier to spread, I now like it a lot more. It does make you feel softer as well, but it might cause bumps if you don't ventilate the area before it dries or absorbs.
