This is a great little set of massage oils. It does exactly what a massage oil should do. It's not sticky. It absorbs nicely but still delivers plenty of glide when you're giving a massage

Pros
natural ingredients, beautiful containers, nice scents, good glide
Cons
scent may be too strong for some, allergy concerns
The Good Clean Love Gift set is a nice way to get some high quality massage oils in a cute little kit. Massage can be great foreplay and having a high quality oil can change a good experience into a great one. The sexy scents and smooth glide really set the mood for a fun night for any couple. I would recommend this kit to anyone looking to try a little bit of massage with their partner. The set of three oils makes it more likely that there is going to be a scent that each partner will like.
The oil is a medium weight massage oil. Yes it will feel oily, but it absorbs nicely and won't sit on your skin for hours. You can easily wash it off with soap and water if you don't like a greasy feeling, but honestly I never found that to be necessary as it absorbed pretty well for me. It acts just like you would imagine an oil would. It pours, it runs, it is not going to stay in place. That being said, if you are going to use this oil in the bedroom you may want to put a towel or two down so you don't get oil on your sheets because it can be difficult to wash out massage oil.
Each bottle had a different scent. The three scents are Caribbean Rose, Indian Spice, and Origins. They are all pretty strong scents, but once applied they are not too overwhelming. They are scented with essential oils so they are very natural smelling.
Caribbean Rose: You can definitely smell the rose essential oil in this one. It smells more like roses themselves than a synthetic rose perfume. There is also a sense of earthiness to it, so it is not pure rose.
Indian Spice: This is a very warm, spicy scent. Clove is what stands out most to me with this scent. It also smells like there might be some cinnamon and black pepper in it as well.
Origins: Origins was my favorite of the three oils. This was an herbaceous scent. I thought I picked up some lavender, and eucalyptus in it, but I am not entirely sure what is in this blend.
The oils are edible, but not flavored. So while it's not going to be a problem if you accidentally swallow some, this isn't a product you are going to want to go out of your way to eat.
As a massage oil it performs very well. I am a professional massage therapist and this oil performs very similarly to the oils I use for work. It is a long lasting, medium weight oil. This isn't one that's going to absorb right away unless you are using very little of it. The carrier oils are apricot kernel and jojoba oil. Both of these carriers are long lasting, so this isn't an oil that's going to go rancid in a couple of months.
I also really liked the oil as a moisturizer. It really softens the skin especially when you put it on right after a bath or shower. The added vitamin E and the naturally occurring vitamin A from the apricot kernel oil will really nourish your skin.
I did not try this product as a sexual lubricant as I am not comfortable with using essential oils near my genitals (especially when I don't know which ones were used). In theory, I think that it could work well as a lubricant if you are not prone to infections or using a latex condom since oil breaks down latex.
I was very pleased with the packaging of the oils. Each oil comes in a 1 oz cobalt-blue glass bottle. Since the oil contains essential oils, this is perfect. You should always keep products containing essential oils out of direct light because it can cause them to degrade faster. The cobalt-blue color prevents light from shining in the bottles so you don't need to worry about storing these in a dark place. The glass bottle may be frustrating to people who want to squeeze out the oil rather than waiting for it to drop out, but storing it in glass is actually good for the integrity of the oils. I found myself just taking the lid off completely because I like to be able to get more than a few drops at a time.
My one complaint about this product is that the ingredients list does not say which essential oils are used in the oils. It simply says essential oil blend. If you or your partner has allergies to perfumes or any essential oil then you are taking a risk of a reaction with this product. For most people this shouldn't be a problem, but it is something to keep in mind if you have had reactions to scented products in the past.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it3 months after original review
I still think this is a great little set. It is a small set, so I went through it pretty quickly. I think it is great to use as a massage oil, skin moisturizer, or bath oil. Other than some leakage if the bottles are not kept upright, I think this is a perfect set. I definitely plan on buying more of these sets to give to friends.
