Okay, I stold that from a song, kind of, with a revision; at least I admit it!! Liquid Silk is a very silky, smooth lube that also has some other, very surprising benefits!!

Use

I am a dedicated lube user and have used the same brand for about three years. I decided to try the Liquid Silk after reading some of the reviews and I am so glad!! This was a great water based lube! The liquid silk was a very slick lube for my husband's solo and felt very wet for my solo session! We loved the barely there feeling during penetration, there was no stickiness or gummy feeling. I love the way this made my skin so soft after it worked its way in during use. I re-energized it with a bit of water and it lasted even longer as a productive lube. Due to the thinness and lack of extreme slickness I would not recommend this as an anal lube.

Just out of curiosity and also loving the soft smoothness of my skin after it was rubbed in, I tried this after shaving my bikini area and WOW! What a great lotion to avoid the shaving bumps. This also worked very well on my legs, also. Silky soft, sensual skin afterward, and a tiny bit went a long ways! Okay, I am a bit strange, but if you tried this, you & your partner would love it, too.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

I loved the smooth, light texture and so did my husband. The lube rubs in nicely without gumming up or getting sticky. Actually, your skin is super soft after using and it makes a great massage lotion or after-shaving lotion.

The pump dispenser makes it easy to get the right amount, but takes a bit of getting used to and practice. I had an insane amount the first time I pumped, but was able to regulate the amount afterwards.

The Silk will run, so care is needed when applying it to your toys. When it is placed on the body, it tends to stay put, depending on how you are using it, and what you are doing after application. Don't just pump it on and expect it to stay put, it needs a bit of rubbing.

Taste / Aroma

This is not a lube for oral use after application. It tastes really, really bitter!! My husband was very turned off by the taste. I thought it was pretty horrible, but got over it after wiping him off with a damp rag.

The aroma is very light and pleasant. It is almost like a fresh linen lotion, but barely there. Very light and clean smelling lube. It definitely is not very noticeable or overpowering.

Performance

Liquid silk is a bio-static lube, which prevents the spread of yeast infections, bacteria and fungal sharing. Pretty amazing! There is no glycerin, it still lasts quite awhile and is smooth and non-sticky. They sure got the right formula with this one!

The lube lasted for about 3 hours before we had to reapply, but when I played with toys clitorally, I needed to renew or reapply about every hour. A small amount goes a long ways and makes this a very economical lubricant.

The softness of your skin afterwards also made this a perfect lotion for after shaving, on the bikini area and also for my legs. It does take a bit of rubbing in, though.

Packaging

I received my bottle of Liquid Silk packaged in a clear plastic bag. The top had safety tape over it and you need to twist the pump top to make it pop out and work correctly. This is a bit obvious to anyone familiar with sexual lubricant. I would not use it for travel due to the pump top.

I love the silky feeling after the Liquid Silk has absorbed into your skin! This lube goes a long way and is perfect for those just-shaved parts. I like the longevity and feeling when using it as a lube. I can't say enough about this, except do NOT taste it!!

    • i get the impression that this is crap......
    • Liquid Silk's not a bad lube, but "crap" or "awesome" depends a lot on what you want out of your lube. Like, do you want one for anal play or vaginal? For shower play? Are you a stickler for healthy ingredients?

  • Liquid Silk and Silicone Toys
    • So, while looking through highly rated water based lubes, I came across Liquid Silk. Aside from the bitter taste, no one seems to have any complaints.

      However, I noticed that the fourth ingredient is Dimethicone - and I was wondering what everyone's experience with this and silicone sex toys was? Is the silicone in Liquid Silk a small enough portion that it has no effect on toys, or is it generally not recommended for that type of play?

      Or does the bonding potential of silicone lubes have more to do with the type/quality of silicone than anything else?
    • That's a really good question because Dimethicone is a silicone.

      Basically it should be ok to use as long as the toy is made of medical grade silicone. There should, in theory, be no reaction. I, personally, wouldn't want to test that out on my own toys though. You can do a patch test on a small part of the toy. The reaction should be immediate if there is going to be one.

      Anyone else know about this?
    • I have had liquid silk react to a silicone toy. Which sucks because I love it. :(
