I wanted to love it so badly.
For me, this item just isn't worth it. I didn't get the aphrodisiac qualities and it's much too expensive to use as just a plain lubricant. But based on the other reviews, I guess other people have had more luck. I'd recommend giving it a try. I won't be getting it again but it's evident that some people are really enjoying it and if nothing else, it is a great lubricant.Published: November 8, 2010
Pros:
Water based, non-irritant, non-sticky, long-lasting.
Cons:
Non-arousing for me.
...But the truth is, it's just ordinary. I've never used an arousal lubricant before so I was excited about trying this one. I thought it would be some great undiscovered experience that would change my lubricant choices for decades to come, but no such luck, at least not with this one.
The Hathor aphrodisia lubricant, named for the Egyptian goddess of Love, is made from pure botanical emollients, like Siberian Ginseng and Horny Goat Weed. It promotes itself as all natural and a water-based lube which is compatible with condoms. It's also unflavored and unscented for maximum personal compatibility. I know I can have a lot of irritation with different lubricants. So for sensitive people like me, I'm sure this is a great choice. I also found it to be very gentle and long lasting. It's not sticky on the skin which is a great plus for me. I really hate that sticky, 'I need to shower right now' feeling. Also, it's made in Vancouver, B.C!
Personally though I found the aphrodisiac qualities did not work for me. I felt like I was using regular KY, a much more expensive version. I tried it several times hoping it would change my mind or I might get something out of it. I held off writing this review because I was hoping for some more information, or more action from this product. I appreciate the other qualities of the product. It's water based and great for most any usage and since it's made from natural ingredients does not give me irritation problems so I'll definitely be using it but I just feel like I'm not getting the full experience of it. But that might have to do with me and my body chemistry and I don't want to sour anyone's thoughts of trying it.

Thank you for viewing Hathor Aphrodisia lubricant pure – arousal lube review page!

Bummer that it didn't work out well for you.
Those warming/cooling lubes and gels can be pretty hit or miss.
Thanks for the review!
Thanks for the review! I've been wanting to try this just as a lubricant.
Could you tell us a little more about how it worked as a "plain" lubricant? Comparing it to K-Y could go either way, since many people find that K-Y doesn't work very well, but it sounds like maybe it does for you.
Aww that stinks. Thanks for the review!
How thick is it?
I have a similar experience with this one.
I didn't realize some people had trouble with KY, I find for me it is just longlasting, i don't usually need to reapply, and it's sticky enough to stay put and not thin out, if that makes sense. Plus I feel it's relatively cheap and because I sometimes have problems with skin irritation on different products, I use it as my go-to because I've never had irritation with it.
It's a little bit thinner than KY is. I feel like it's kind of like the consistency of jelly (as oppose to jam) and i think it's satisfactory in that department, at least for me.
Great review. Thank you!
Good review, I didn't notice much aphrodisiac-type effects, either.
good review thank you!
