ID? I Don't Think So.

I would not recommend purchasing ID glide as your main water based lubricant. There are many high quality water based lubricants that are similarly priced that do a far better job. The stickiness is unappealing and the glycerin sensitivity turns me off to using this lube.

Use

This lube would work best for short term tasks, for example, inserting a toy. It does not seem to last during intercourse or anything requiring a good amount of friction. ID glide is a water based lubricant and is safe to use with toys and condoms alike. The product contains glycerin, which can tend to cause a reaction in some people.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The lube is very thin coming out of the bottle. It almost seems to melt and get thinner with your body heat. This makes it difficult for the lube to stay in one place, which means frequent reapplication. Almost immediately, the lube starts to get tacky and then becomes a sticky mess on your hands, body, fabric, and anywhere else it touches. The lube is non staining.

Taste / Aroma

ID glide has a slight sweet smell to it. It reminds me of the way cough syrup smells. The sweet smell is probably due to the glycerin.

In addition to the sweet smell, ID glide has a sweet taste to it. I do not recommend ingesting this due to the preservatives and parabens listed on the ingredient label. A little bit of lube ended up on my lips and it tasted pretty close to cough syrupy sweetness. It was a big turn off and the taste lingered in my mouth for quite sometime.

Performance

I tested the ID glide both alone and with a partner.

The lube seemed to work slightly better during solo play than with a partner. I can only guess that this is because of the lack of friction alone.

When using the lube with a partner, I experienced a sticky feeling within a minute of applying it. The lube wore off quickly, but the stickiness lingered until I took a shower to wash it all off.

Experience

The ID glide is a water based lube and has the following ingredients: Water/aqua/eau, glycerin, propylene glycol, cellulose gum, edta, carbomer, peg-90m, tetrahydroxypropyl ethylenediamine, methylparaben, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate.
Follow-up commentary
I have used ID glide now several times for masturbation and vaginal sex. Each time I have used ID glide it seems to evaporate quickly and leaves me sticky. I have since thrown away this lube in favor of other quality based water lubricants that I own.

I'm glad I read your review. This was the first lube I ever got. I bought it from another site that wasn't nearly as helpful as Eden. I felt the same way you did about this lube. Just glad to know there are better options.

Thanks for sharing your review with us! Good to know about the glycerin contained in this lubricant, I will steer clear of it.
