If you want to get a little friendly with a vegan...

This might be good if you just need a little help to get the juices flowing at first, but it just won't go the distance like some other lubricants on the market.
Published: October 10, 2008
Pros:
Not runny, no noticeable smell, vegan friendly, not sticky afterward.
Cons:
Doesn't go the distance... dries up too quickly.

...then this might be something to look into. When I opened the bottle, I was pleased to find that there was no real detectable odor as one often finds with some lubricants. If it has any smell at all, it certainly isn't objectionable and seems to have a hint of sweetness to it. It is certainly a breath of fresh air from the lubricants that smell like they just rolled off the assembly line from a chemical factory.

The texture is almost like a smooth milky lotion. I really liked how it does not become runny and gross in my hands. I've always hated lubes that are practically pure oil/water which runs everywhere before you can even get it where it needs to be. It is never sticky and actually feels a bit moisturizing.

However, my fiance and I both agree that it seems to dry up far too quickly, which was quite disappointing. This product is marketed as an organic and vegan-friendly lube, but it just doesn't seem to get the job done. After just a minute or so of use on him, it was totally spent. The good news is it did not become sticky like so many other lubes do. However, it might as well have been plain ol' lotion that soaked right into the skin.

I love the idea of a truly organic and natural lubricant, but this doesn't quite cut it. After using Sliquid, my fiance did mention that it felt very nice on him in an indescribable sort of way. I tried to get him to elaborate on this feeling, but he could only come up with, "well it is not tingly or anything like that... it just feels... nice."

We didn't feel the need for immediate clean up due to the moisturizing nature of the lube, but I might suggest a shower after all the fun is over for good measure!
Follow-up commentary
I still find this useful for solo-play, but I still don't like to use it on my husband, nor do I like to use it with my husband. It just doesn't have enough stay power for us, although since I don't need much on my own anyhow, it is pleasant and clean feeling as opposed to some of the other more traditional lubes out there.

How's the taste? Think it would be good for oral sex?

Have you tried O'My? It's also natural. I love it.

wow I completely disagree with you, I thought it lasted a fair amount of time and when it started to dry up I added a little water and me and my boyfriend were good to go. I'm used to silicone lubes so this was a pleasant surprise.

Ice Ice Baby,

After further "testing," I will say that I think this lubricant does rather well during intercourse, but for other types of play (like hand jobs) I was not very satisfied. Hey, to each their own!

  • Lies!!
    • I was about to get the Sliquid silk organics over the regular Sliquid organics...until I stumbled across a review that says that it's not entirely water-based. It's actually a water-silicone hybrid lube, but Eden has it listed solely as a water-based lube. I was intending to purchase it to use with my silicone toys (which has the possibility of warping the silicone toys), so I'm very grateful that someone thought to post the truth about this lube in their review.
    • I've noticed this, too. As far as I've know, the only hybrid lube that is listed as "silicone/water" is Wet Synergy. Anybody know why this is?
    • It says the base is silicone / water on the product page - or do you mean it's listed that way somewhere else?

  • Sliquids shelf life?
    • Does anybody know what the shelf life on this would be? I'm wondering if it would be less than other lubes because of all the natural ingredients it contains. Any info on this or other natural lubes would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'd like to know what it is as well.
    • I prefer the Sliquid organics line myself, but I don't know the shelf life. I'd love to know as well

  • Why is it called silk?
    • just wondering why it is called silk? I assume there is not silk involved since this is a vegan product. right? I have seen some cosmetics "infused with real silk" so the name is throwing me off. Just wanted reassurance
    • I'm going to answer assuming your question is serious.

If you read the product description, it states "Natural creamy and silky, non-sticky texture." The name "Silk" is referring to the texture of the lubricant, meaning it is smooth as in "smooth as silk."

when you have people try to sabotage you, it is not unreasonable to get paranoid. I know it says vegan, but so have lots of things that have said vegan but then were not.

like I said. just wanting reassurance. thanks.
