JO H2O lubricant - water based lube by System JO - review by MGDavicnigirl

I am on the hunt for the perfect water based lubricant. I decided to give JO H2O a whirl because of all of the rave reviews out there.

To be fair, I have given this lube a test run with a partner and during solo play with a toy.

My experience with the lube during sex with my husband was ok. I liked that the initial application was enough to last the entire time. It felt a little tacky on my hand and I spent several minutes wishing I could wash my hand off instead of enjoying sex with my husband. Once I got over those thoughts, the lube was really pleasant. Nothing feels like natural lubrication, but this comes fairly close. A little lube goes a long way, so be sure not to over do it or you might not get the friction you need.

My experience using the lube on my own with a vibrator was much better. The lube felt good with my toy and created the right amount of drag and wetness I was looking for. I used less lube, and it was still enough to last the whole time. Less lube also seemed to lessen the tacky feeling on my hand. The lesson here is that less is more.

Those with sensitivities take note, this product does contain parabens and glycerin.

The full ingredient list is as follows: Propyl Paraben, Methyl Paraben, Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose, Glycerin, and Purified Water.

JO H2O will not hold up in the shower or for any water play. This is a drawback to using a water based lube, but the benefits of easy clean up, and compatibility with silicone, can outweigh this one factor.

The lube initially feels similar to silicone based lubes, but after a few minutes it does become tacky. Interesting to note: I did not seem to have this problem when my vagina was providing it's own lubricant in addition to the JO H2O.

The lube doesn't run out of the bottle on its own. It tends to stay in until you squeeze on the bottle, forcing it to come out. I had no trouble squeezing the bottle. This makes the lube fairly leak proof and safe for travel and storage. This lube comes in various sizes and the smaller bottles are good for travel.

The lube seems to stay onto itself and does not have any sort of adverse feel to it while in use. It's viscosity is similar to pancake syrup.

The glycerin in this product gives it a slightly sweet smell and taste to it. The smell is barely noticeable and only when held close to the face.

The taste is very light, but not greasy or oily. The taste and scent of the lube would probably not be best suited for oral sex. It's not a bad taste, but tastes exactly like glycerine. To me, glycerine tastes like silky sugar water. It's not disgusting, but it is off putting.

I was surprised and quite pleased with the way the JO H2O held up during sex. I anticipated the need to reapply, given that it is a water based lube, but was pleasantly surprised to experience otherwise.

Clean up is easy and can be as simple as a towel or a quickie shower. I did not experience any lasting stickiness or sweet smell even after several hours had passed.

JO H20 is a water based lubricant and is compatible with all toys and condoms. It is suitable for solo, partner, or group play. If you have a sensitivity to glycerine, use caution with this lube.

The bottle had only a safety seal. The package doesn't have any X rated material on the bottle, but does have the words "personal lubricant" on the bottle. The label can be easily removed if privacy is a concern. The bottle is easy to squeeze, and I don't foresee that changing as the bottle runs low. If it ever did become difficult to squeeze, the cap can be removed and the lube would be easily accessible from the opening.

I have been testing water based lubricant for the most natural feeling, longest lasting, least sticky product out there and so far Jo H2O is the winner.

When I put the lube on my fingers and touch them together, the lube strings apart, similar to how natural lubrication reacts when tested the same way.
