I use K-Y Jelly a lot-almost every time I have sex, actually-so I've got a lot of experience with it. For one, it's water based & should last long, although adding more as you need it won't hurt. It also pours easily & is easy to spread. However, it gets sticky & needs to be cleaned with soap and water, & if you get it on the sheets you might as well throw them in the laundry right away. Also because it is thin, you might just want to stick with using it for vaginal use.

Use

K-Y Jelly is a great water based, water soluble lubricant, best for vaginal sex. It's not flavored or scented so it might not be preferred for oral sex, and it might not be thick enough for anal sex, although one is welcome to try. I think it would work best for vaginal sex, for any couple. It will work great on toys as well. Also, because this lubricant is water based and hypo allergenic, it is safe for anyone to use.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This water based lubricant is great in terms of quality because of the smooth natural feeling. It is runny, but it lubricates well and lasts long enough for orgasm. If you need to be very wet, I would suggest adding enough for your comfort level, or adding a bit more as you need it.

K-Y Jelly is easy to pour, easy to spread around, and does stay in place after it runs a bit. It does feel very sticky when it dries, so you might want to get it off immediately after use. It is a bit uncomfortable when you don't.

Taste / Aroma

The only smell that I could find was the water and maybe a slight smell of the ingredients in it, which include:

Purified water (eau purifiee), Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Gluconolactone, Methylparaben, and Sodium Hydroxide.

There is no taste-only that of water, and that's what it reminds me of; simply water. This personal lubricant is almost completely natural, except for the ingredients included above. It feels almost completely natural though, despite the thicker jelly feeling.

Performance

Usually my K-Y Jelly lasts about thirty minutes to an hour, and I add a good amount to my toys or husband prior to use. But the amount of lube added might make the amount of time that it lasts longer or shorter, and this varies on the amount used.

I do have to wash it off with a small amount of soap and water, or it stays sticky. That's the only thing I don't like about this lube, is that it's sticky. That's the only con I can think of! It doesn't clean up very well either, in my opinion, because it gets sticky, so you basically have to scrub it off the sheets if it gets on them, or just put them in the laundry.

    • do you prefer the jellys or the oils?
    • I prefer the jelly
    • If you mean by KY, I totally prefer the jelly. But in GENERAL I think I lean more towards oils and more liquidy substances, because I like the consistency better. For some reason though, thin KY just never appeals to me!
