JO H2O flavored lubricant - water based lube by System JO - review by meitman

This water based lube is excellent for pretty much any sexual play you can think of. It’s great for penetrative sex, oral sex, hand jobs, rimming, or providing a great flavor to body parts that you want your mouth all over. While it does work for anal penetrative sex, I personally would prefer a slightly thicker lube for such activities.

System JO really did an awesome job with this water based lube. They managed to make a lube that lasts well, doesn’t leave an aftertaste, and doesn’t become sticky. When I first put it to use I could definitely tell I had lubricant on my hand (shocking, right), but I went on with what I was doing. In fact, it wasn’t until after my wife and I were done playing that I realized my hand never became sticky. Usually with lubes I get the urge to clean my hand after using lube, but with this one that urge never happened. Once the lube dries there is no residue or tacky feeling left behind.

This lube is the consistency of a runny lotion. It’s not really watered-down, but it will slowly slide off your hand if you turn your hand sideways. It’s actually a great consistency for almost any activity you can think of, however, if you want a really great anal lubricant you may prefer one that is slightly thicker. This will work, but it’s not necessarily my first choice for that type of play.

Now for the main reason you probably got this lube, the chocolate flavor. Let me just say, it works! This lube smells and tastes like chocolate! When you first pop the top, you are greeted by an aroma of chocolate goodness mixed with a little bit of chemical smell. When you are using the product and it has been exposed to the air for a brief time, the chemical smell isn’t noticed and you just get the chocolaty goodness. You can definitely smell the lube when you open the lid, but while in use the smell isn't overpowering.

The lube does taste like chocolate as well, at least as much as could be expected. You’re not going to mistake this for chocolate syrup and pour it into your milk or over ice cream, but you’re also not going to have a problem picking out the flavor. My wife does think it’s a little sweeter, though, than chocolate.

This lube works great for most sexual tasks. As I mentioned above, this lube works great for hand jobs, oral sex, penetrative sex, or for adding flavor to body parts. It will work for anal penetration, but there are probably better options out there. In a pinch, this would get the job done for you. It’s not necessarily super slick out of the tube, but it was slick enough for our tastes. Mixing it with some saliva (which is kind of the idea) makes it slicker.

The lube lasted for as long as my wife and I needed it. You will definitely have to reapply if you’re having a marathon sex session, but for an average session you should be fine. Although, you may want to reapply after licking all the flavor off your partner.

The container this lube comes in is very nice. The label just looks kind of classy to me. There’s all the important info on the outside like ingredients, directions, latex safe, expiration date, etc. It’s pretty obvious for most people that this is a sex lubricant, but at the same time it doesn’t really scream “lube” at you.

The cap system is pretty nice as well. It has a red push button on the front edge of the cap that pops the lid open. Squeeze a little out and then easily push the top back down. As long as the cap is all the way pushed down you shouldn’t have any problems with spills if it tips over in a drawer or wherever you store it. If you travel with it, however, I would put it in a plastic bag or something. It’s unlikely, but possible that the button could accidentally be pressed and the contents would come out to party.

The ingredients for this lube are: purified water, chocolate flavor, propyl paraben, methyl paraben, sodium carboxy methyl cellulose, and glycerin. Or in other words, chocolate taste and smell I guess. I’m guessing those of you who these ingredients won’t sit well with already know whether or not you can use this product. If you’re prone to UTI’s or yeast infections you probably want to avoid this. Use with caution if you aren’t sure.

This lube will last quite a while if you don’t chug it down first. My bottle has an expiration date of November 2014!

I have to say this is my new favorite lube! I probably will look for something different for anal penetration, but for everything else I’ll be reaching for this. I love that it never gets sticky and of course the chocolate flavor and smell is awesome! It’s a great way to add some more fun to an already fun activity. It works well for everything my wife and I use it for so far. We haven’t felt the need to reapply yet during sexual play. I’ve only used this lube for a brief period, but it is already my favorite. I made the mistake of trying my old lube recently and was disappointed that I still felt tacky after sex and had to wash it off. JO H2O doesn’t give me that feeling and I don’t miss it!
