Long-lasting Lube for All Occasions
For the price, the amount, and how long the bottle lasts, this lube is numero uno. It's perfect for pretty much every occasion. After only using it a handful of times, it quickly became my favorite lube. I would have to say that Probe Thick and Rich is my favorite lube. The name says it all-- it is VERY thick, and lasts an insanely long time because of it. Whenever we were running dangerously low on the lube, I prematurely suggested that we should probably get some more. It was the ass-end of the bottle, and shaking it around I could tell there was only a little bit left. However, five months later, we are STILL dipping into that tiny reserve! I just can't believe how long this stuff lasts!
Not only does it last forever, which is awesome AND saves money, but the ingredients are all-natural. There are only four ingredients total: Purified Water, Vegetable Glycerin, Polyethylene Oxide, Grapefruit Seed Extract. It's odorless and doesn't taste like much of anything, and if consumed it's completely harmless. I like that it's tasteless, as it doesn't leave any kind of gross aftertaste in my mouth. For people that have irritable skin or are sensitive, this natural lube would be perfect.
You can use Probe Thick and Rich comfortably both anally and vaginally. I use it for pegging my husband, or for plugs. We have the large Sasha Grey signature plug, and this lube goes perfectly with it. It is very stringy-- you could put some in your closed hands, and pull them apart for your entire arms length and it would STILL be sticking together. I don't mind the stringiness, personally, and neither does my hubby. However, it is very runny and can be quite messy because of that. For some reason, it just kind of spills out of the cap. It could have really been designed better, as there's always some that gets away and runs down the bottle. Other than that, the design is great. Just a discreet, plain bottle, reminiscent of a shampoo or lotion bottle. I like that it doesn't have an obnoxious or obvious label as well.
If I were to point out one truly bad thing about this lube, it would be that it gets dry and sticky rather quickly. I always find myself needing to re-apply little bit more after a while. Since it's so rich, though, it only takes a dime's worth more.

Now that I've gotten more into anal play, I've used this lubricant a lot more than when I originally wrote this review. I had anal sex for the first time using this, and it was completely painless and just felt great! Probe Thick and Rich is *awesome*, and I don't see why I wouldn't purchase it again after this bottle runs out.

Vegetable Glycerin?

I've been trying to find a nice lube with safe ingrediants but so far i've found very few and even those have been question. I've read that Vegetable Glycerin is made from vegetable oil and is good for the skin. But i've read that Glycerin can cause skin irritant in some people and in concentrated solutions can damage the mucous membranes. Is there a deffernce with Vegetable Glycerin and just plain Glycerin? or is it the same thing? Is it safe enough to use in lubes? What other ingrediants should i be warry about?

Glycerin is glycerin no matter where it comes from. Calling it vegetable glycerin is an attempt to trick you into thinking its something different. It may have different impurities, coming from a different source, but its still glycerin.

Glycerine is a component that is found in ALL animal and plant cells (including your own cells).
By specifying vegetable glycerin, the manufacturer is only trying to convey that the source of the glycerin is vegan friendly to those who have such concerns. But the chemical itself is the same.
