Lotion d'amour review
I really didn't like the product from the time we opened it. It was too strong smelling, smelled and tasted cough syrup and the tingling was too intense.Published: May 30, 2008
Pros:
It was good for a gag gift and if you like super strong tingling!
Cons:
It smelled and tasted like cough syrup. The tingling is too intense for me.
I ordered two bottles of the Lotion d'amour as part of a gift basket for my hubby. I thought it was reasonably priced and although I was getting some other lubes and lotions, decided to add it to the basket. I chose the cherry and strawberry margarita flavors. I liked the idea of the warming sensation that it was supposed to produce and thought this was a little something different. When the bottles arrived, I was pleased with the size of the bottles. I decided not to try it out before giving it to him.
When I gave hubby his basket, he eagerly went through everything in and when he got to this jar, he held it up and just smiled at me. He thought the warming sensation was the key to making this product a keeper!
We had started with the cherry flavor first. When we opened this bottle, I thought it smelled like cough syrup. I don’t mind cough syrup but not when it’s playtime. I thought it was a little strong. While we were opening bottles, we went ahead and opened the strawberry margarita one too. It has a strong smell too but not really like cough syrup. I couldn’t decide what it smelled like, just that it had a strong smell. We went ahead and tried it out. As I was rubbing it on e him, I noticed a tingling sensation on my hands but didn’t say anything. Hubby started squirming around on the bed and I knew I hadn’t excited him that much- YET. It told me to stop putting g it on him because it was actually tingling to the point of discomfort. I stopped and he recovered without anything major happening. He attempted to put the lotion on me but I stopped him, telling him about my hands burning while rubbing it on him. I have super sensitive skin so he knew better than put it on me – anywhere!
Needless to say, this product was a disappointment. The smell was strong, smelled and tasted like cough syrup, and the tingling felt like you had a fever! Not exactly the effect we want in the bedroom. Overall, this gel only gets 1 star from us. I was disappointed and so was hubby was disappointed in it too. It was cheap enough and I got it as a gag gift but I wouldn’t recommend it if you are looking for something useful and effective.

This is one of those lubes that ended up in the trash can not long after arriving. It wasn't worth messing with. I will never order it again. It is not sugar free either.

Cherry Flavored?
-
Has anyone come across lubricants or other "potions" that ACTUALLY taste like cherry and not Robitussin?

Thank you for viewing Lotion d'amour review page!

Warming lotions, in my experience, are always a risky affair. Some don't have any effect at all, while others feel like lighting your sensitive bits on fire! Sorry this didn't work out for you.
It was fun to try it out anyway! At least now we know. Thanks!
Yowch! Glad you stopped when you did. I always recommend a test area with any warming lotion (and with other things, like peppermint tea, creme de menthe, etc).
Too bad, but it was worth a try, right?
oh yeah, it was well worth the try!
We bought some of this years ago when we were kind of new to the toy stuff. We never bought anymore. Even then it seems too too ......too yuckie... ( is that a word?)
yes, we were new at it too...and ours went in the trash not long after!
Thanks for the comments.
