Love Balm? I Don't Think So...
Overall, this is a good massage balm that you don't need to re-apply. I did feel the need to wash it off after my massage due to an overly greasy feeling, which killed the sexy mood that was created by the massage.Published: January 6, 2011
Pros:
Don't need to re-apply
Cons:
Hate the greasiness
I thought I would pick up some Love Balm after seeing some of the great reviews on it. I am not sure that this was in my best interest now, after testing it out.
Upon getting the Love Balm, I opened it to see the texture and it was hard as a rock! I am pretty sure it's because it was cold, but it still has yet to get softer since we have used it. It took about 10 minutes to get the Love Balm out of the jar to use it and quite a bit of scraping. It took a little kneading to get it to turn into the oil; but, once it did, it was a nice massage oil.
The oil itself is a nice thin oil that lasts quite a while during a massage. It won't need to be re-applied over and over again, which is a nice change compared to some other massage oils. Once you get the balm to turn to an oil, it is smooth and luxurious. I personally won't be using this as a lubricant, though it does state that you can use it as a lubricant. To me, it is just a little too much like oil. I don't want to use an oil on my delicate areas.
The oil leaves your skin very greasy after using it, which was a major drawback for me. I really like a massage oil or massage balm to sink into my skin, leaving it soft and kissable, but the Love Balm didn't do this for me. It was greasy and left a greasy residue. I felt the need to take a shower to remove the greasy feeling right after getting my massage, which kind of killed that sexy mood.
Overall, this is a good (at best) massage oil. I didn't like the scent, which was the Tropic Love scent; it smells like raw coconut. It was a little overwhelming for me. The massage portion of the Love Balm is great... you don't have to re-apply it over and over again. But I didn't enjoy the fact that I needed to wash it off immediately because I felt nasty after my massage. I personally won't be purchasing this Love Balm again, but am happy that I gave it a shot.

I really don't like this balm. I thought after a while, I would warm up to the new feeling of it, but I didn't.

Thank you for viewing Love balm – oil based lube review page!

Wow, I'm surprised you didn't like this! I actually love the greasiness of these products, but I can definitely see how not everyone likes that feeling. Good review!
Good review! I think my boyfriend might like it if it smells like coconut. Would you say it smells kind of like sun tan lotion? That's what I think of when I hear something smells like coconut.
It definitely does not smell like sun tan lotion... its more like a raw coconut smell... like if you were to crack open a fresh coconut.
Thanks for the review
Thanks for reading
Aww, boo. I LOVE the smell of suntan lotion, and so does my boyfriend. Oh well. Thanks for the review.
Hmmm . . . I'd been curious about this balm for some time. If I do decide to try it, I think I'll go with the Bergamot & Lavendar scent!
Thanks for the honest review!
Ugggg about the greasy after feel. Not sure I'd deal with that.
Good review!

Thanks for the review. What ingredients were listed on the bottle? Were there any directions for use written anywhere?
