Maximus - lubricant by Bodywise Limited - review by Sammi

Maximus is a water-based lubricant that is thick and non-greasy. It has a high glycol content, and is glycerin free. According to the manufacturer’s website, it is formulated to be bio-static, which means it will stop the spread of bacteria, yeast infection, or fungal spores that it is exposed to. This lube does contain several parabens.

This lubricant works well for toys as well as partner play. Its thickness makes it good for anal play as well. Because of its base, Maximus is safe to use with whatever toy tickles your fancy.

Maximus has a smooth, gel-like texture. It feels wet and thick to the touch, and it's easy to dispense out of the pump-top bottle. I love pump tops on lube better than flip caps, as this makes them less messy.

This is a relatively thick lube, and heavier than many other water-based lubricants I have used. It’s not sticky, stays in place well, and lasts for a long time.

I love that Maximus is scentless. It also has no flavor, although it does have a slightly bitter aftertaste. While I'd prefer not to use this before oral sex, it is not so unpleasant to make oral a no-go.

Maximus has incredible staying power. It doesn't take a lot to slick up a toy or your partner, and it stays slick for a long time. We only reapplied it when using new toys during a session, and it didn't dry out or get sticky.

We did have to wash it off after sex, but it came off easily with soap and water. It didn't appear to stain any carpet or upholstery when dabbed at with a damp cloth.

I liked the thickness of this lube. Runny lubes seem to get sticky or tacky after a short time, but Maximus retained its slickness.

Maximus comes in a clear pump top bottle, with a tamper evident seal under the cap. The bottle has some simple black drawings of a Greek column and urn, and black text.

This lube comes in an 8.25 ounce bottle, which should last quite a while, even with frequent use.

The Maximus bottle is stamped with batch number and a best before date. I never realized that lube could expire! My bottle’s date is about 5 years from now, and I suspect I will use it before then.

We tried this lube out together first. My husband liked the pump - it was a lot less messy than the flip-tops on our other lubes. It kept my toys slick, and didn't need to be reapplied. We used it for vaginal and anal penetration, and it worked well for both. It's not quite as thick as the Climax Anal Burst that we typically use anally, but it didn't dry out or get sticky, and allowed for easy penetration. We both found that it had a bit of an aftertaste when performing oral after the lube had been applied, but it didn't bother either of us enough to stop.

I also tried Maximus alone, and it worked wonderfully well.

This will be a lube we continue to use.
