Maximus~Love You To The Max

I love this water based lubricant. It's thick, slippery, and smooth, and all without ever being greasy or sticky. Leave it on and let it soak into your skin or wash it off with a quick rinse; either way your clean up is fast and easy. The pump top makes for easy use!

Use

Maximus is a very popular lubricant and for good reason; it's a good product! It's one that many people can use and will enjoy for both anal and vaginal play. It's thicker than your average water based lube, not runny at all, and comes in an easy to use pump top bottle for easy access. There's really nothing better than a lube that stays where you put it and doesn't have to be reapplied. With just a tiny bit you will find yourself, your partner or your toys slick and ready to go.

There's nothing more you can ask for in a product like this.

Maximus comes in an 8.25 fluid ounce bottle and contains the following ingredients:

Highly Purified Water
Propylene Glycol Cellulose Polymer
Di Sodium EDTA
Phenoxyethanol
Methyl Paraben
Butyl Paraben
Ethyl Paraben
Propyl Paraben

Maximus is also glycerin and L-Arginine free.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Maximus is thick enough that it stays where you put it, yet not too thick so that it makes it difficult to pump. It's slick and feels wonderful on the skin. As it dries it just disappears as opposed to becoming greasy or sticky.

I've enjoyed how smooth it feels and the fact that a little goes a long way.

Taste / Aroma

The taste is a bit off-putting but there is no smell. I can't think of anything that the taste reminds me of but I'd bypass oral if I were to use this lube beforehand.

Performance

This lubricant was still going strong 45 minutes into my play session. Clean up was easy. I washed it off with water and it simply rinsed away, perfectly and with no leftover residue. I knew I was in love then!

Don't feel as if you have to wash it away though. Maximus absorbed into my skin and felt really nice, but remember, you only need a little bit!

Packaging

The pump top bottle came in a clear bag which was sealed. I ordered this lube along with some other toys and there was no problem with leaking. I'd feel confident traveling with it, just spinning the top shut but it's obvious as to what it is. I keep the bottle on my nightstand and the pump makes using this lube very convenient.

I believe this is the best water based lube out there. Once I tried Maximus, I fell in love. It still performs perfectly, just like it did the first time I used it. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to experiment with different lubes.

Good review. I've been thinking about this, but I am not sure if my body reacts to parabens. Glycerin is not good for me, but I can't remember if parabens harm me.

I love that it comes in a pump bottle. Is it one of those new "airless" pumps? Those work so well and don't clog.

@P'Gell - I'm not sure if it's airless, but I've never had any problem with mine clogging. It works really perfectly!

    • I know most people absolutely love this lube, but when I try to use it, it feels like my genitals are on fire! Could it be due to the parabens? Any thoughts, or any recommendations for another thicker water-based lubricant?
    • I'm not sure if it's kosher to mention a competitor's product here, but BabeLube is a wonderful water-based lube that's comparable in thickness to Maximus.
    • Maximus is my go-to lube. I have very sensitive skin and have never had a problem with it.

    • Two negative things I've seen written are that it has a bitter aftertaste and it does peel off, dry, and need to be washed off.

      Positives and opposites I've heard are that it has a natural tasteless feel similar to saliva, and it is a thicker lubricant. Also the pump looks like a great feature that makes this product less messy.

      I would like to try it for myself, and wonder if it is really the go-to lube for me, and for others like me.
    • This is my favorite water-based lube, hands down and without a doubt. It's pretty thick (ideal for backdoor fun). I've fallen asleep with it on my hands and don't wake up with fuzzy or sticky palms (until they get wet, then it reactivates).

      Maximus is my go to lube, rarely use anything else. It is slightly bitter but not bothersome. It is thicker and also works very well for anal. I never feel the need to wash it off unless I overdue in the heat of passion.

    • Does Maximus come in any other size bottles? I feel like 8 oz. would be a lot for me to use before it goes bad. Also, it seems like a big bottle to store somewhere discrete.
    • It really isn't very big - I have mine it a bedside drawer. Maximus is so thick that you don't have to worry about it leaking unless you really press on the bottle. If my mind isn't playing tricks on me, the bottle is about 2-3/4" in diameter and 4-1/2 to 5 inches tall (including pump), and I think it's closer to 4.5

      I think mine's good to 2013 or something (I'm not at home now, but I can check later), so I wouldn't worry about it going bad
