Maximus - lubricant by Bodywise Limited - review by tigerkate

I used this product for both anal and vaginal penetration, as well as for masturbatory purposes (both as a female and performing on a male). It worked great for all of these things and was especially wonderful at giving proper, thick, lubrication for anal sex (joy!).

I really enjoyed the texture of this lubricant. It was thick but not TOO thick. It's hard for me to explain thickness when it comes to lubricant, so I'm trying to think of an example I would relate to: I have maximum hold hair gel. This stuff is obviously NOT as thick and gel-y as that. I would say this is more along the lines of soft-hold, if you get my drift. If I dab it onto my finger, it won't slip down onto my palm or spread too quickly and drip off my fingers either.

The pump makes it very easy to use. It is also handy when you're in the moment and don't want to stop to fiddle with opening a cap or make sure it's sealed afterward and doesn't knock over and spill...

It stays where you put it, generally, and the only time I noticed it spread beyond where I wanted it to go was when my boyfriend used a bit more than we needed and it rubbed up against his stomach and spread.

My biggest pet peeve with lubricant has been sticky and greasy feelings. This lube is perfection, for me, when it comes to that aspect. It doesn't feel sticky on my fingers. I don't need to grab a wet-nap to clean off my hands after applying! It doesn't cause me to slow down in the heat of the moment. There are no speed bumps and awkward "shit, don't grab his neck, your hands are sticky. Eww did I just pick up lint?" moments. It also doesn't have me running to the bathroom afterward to wash it off my skin. It doesn't feel really greasy and pretty easily absorbs into my skin when it spreads beyond my genital area. Otherwise, the usual cleanup is handled with tissues or a bathroom run when I need to.

Maximus Lubricant does not have any scent to it, as far as I could tell. I personally have not tried to taste a huge glob of it, but a bit of it isn't generally delicious. It's not a flavored lube specifically for oral sex.

Maximus Lubricant will last a very long time. I mean this both for the direct romp in the bed and for the following frisky times. The bottle is large. Because of its thickness and slickness, you will not need to use copious amounts of it in one session. It's a GREAT deal.

I personally don't ever feel the need to wash it off, but I do believe this is a personal preference. For me, there is no need or desire to run out of my lover's arms to go wash myself down. However, if you use a bit more than you need, you might find yourself reaching for some tissues or washing yourself off regardless of the quality of this lube. My partner and I, when we are engaging in anal play, tend to overdo it with lube to air on the side of safety. There have been a few times where we will both be washing off afterward (for hygiene's sake as well as the fact that we just feel... lube-y). But it does NOT dry sticky and it doesn't stay atop my skin forever either. I can usually rub it into my skin. It will absorb well and leave you feeling soft. I have read other reviews that stated a flaky, white crust/buildup when it dries. I have not experienced this at all with Maximus.

I think I like just about everything Maximus brings to the table (...or bed, or couch, or armchair). I love that it's so thick and feels slick and soft. I absolutely adore the fact that it is NOT STICKY! A little goes a long way and lasts a long time.

The packaging is pretty basic and simple. It's in a clear bottle, which says Maximus just like in the picture with a few Greek columns. No instructions necessary! The packaging is very discreet. My boyfriend leaves it out on his nightstand and he lives in the living room of an apartment basically. No one has noticed it.

I also think it's important to point out that you really get a bang for your buck with Maximus (literally and figuratively). I've seen some lubricants on this site that are barely 3oz costing just as much and more...

The pump top, which makes dispensing Maximus convenient, isn't exactly a cinch for travel. I'm sure there is a way to twist the top back to lock it, but I haven't figured that out. I've only put it in a plastic bag and tried not to sit other things on top of it. That has suited my needs just fine. I mean, I haven't required lubricant on the run or anything.

Maximus doesn't really have any extra features, I don't think. It is water based, so you can use it with all your toys and condoms. It is special in that it is great to use anally, which I have heard can be difficult with water based lubes which can run thin.
