extremely useful review
Liquid Silk is an exceptional lubricant in that it is not only functional, odorless, and comfortable to use, but it really feels like "the real thing." It's easy to forget that it's a product at all. For those who want to ease the friction in their sexual experience without feeling that the whole encounter is artificial, Liquid Silk is an ideal solution. It works well with toys - traditional soft ones or even glass - and manages to aid in lubrication while leaving every little sensation intact. Cleaning is easy: since it's water-based, it basically rinses off. But it's also so comfortable that you won't feel an immediate need to wipe it off your body - so after your sexual experience, you can just sit back and relax. It also works great to ease skin-on-skin contact. It doesn't get soaked up as easily as natural lubrication, and it keeps going as long as you do.

I admit I had my doubts about using a lubricant: Would it smell okay? Feel good? Turn sticky or oily? Would it actually help? Liquid Silk blew all my doubts away. Not only is it odorless, a smooth texture, and aids GREATLY in easing penetration, but it actually feels exactly like my body's natural lubrication. You also get a lot of use out of just a small amount of it - I just applied it to me and my toys before playing, and it lasted the whole session without needing reapplication. The initial pain of penetration - something I'd gotten used to just gritting my teeth and dealing with - faded away and I was able to enjoy pure pleasure. It felt amazing when combined with my Phallix glass dildo - super-smooth lubricant over super-smooth glass? The result was the most deeply sensual experience I've ever had during solo sex. Getting rid of the little pains and pressures let me relax and just feel the deeper sensations, and that changed everything.

I can't speak from personal experience about how well this product would work for sex with a partner, but it really seems that it would be a positive element. Applying the product to the genital area is quick, easy, and feels AMAZING. Instead of a burden or annoyance, applying this sensually smooth lube could be part of foreplay. It warms quickly, and feels and acts like the real thing - what more could one ask for?

I really love Maximus (same company makes it) and I really like the idea of this lube.  If it mimics natural lube so much, then I have to try it!  Thanks for the review!

This is by far my favorite lube for sex with a partner.  I perfer Maximus (a little thicker) with toys, but you can't beat Liquid Silk for skin-on-skin!  Thanks for the review!

  • Liquid Silk and Silicone Toys
    • So, while looking through highly rated water based lubes, I came across Liquid Silk. Aside from the bitter taste, no one seems to have any complaints.

However, I noticed that the fourth ingredient is Dimethicone - and I was wondering what everyone's experience with this and silicone sex toys was? Is the silicone in Liquid Silk a small enough portion that it has no effect on toys, or is it generally not recommended for that type of play?

Or does the bonding potential of silicone lubes have more to do with the type/quality of silicone than anything else?
    • That's a really good question because Dimethicone is a silicone.

Basically it should be ok to use as long as the toy is made of medical grade silicone. There should, in theory, be no reaction. I, personally, wouldn't want to test that out on my own toys though. You can do a patch test on a small part of the toy. The reaction should be immediate if there is going to be one.

      Anyone else know about this?
    • I have had liquid silk react to a silicone toy. Which sucks because I love it. :(
