JO 12 Volt is a formula created to assist with arousal in women and other female-bodied folks. It is meant to be used topically, and is applied directly to the intimate areas. The serum can be applied to the clit as well as the labia and G spot.

The 12 volt is intended to be the highest strength of the product, and a 6 volt and 9 volt version are also available. The product is intended to increase blood flow to the clit by creating a tingling sensation. The product is made with many natural ingredients, including several plant oils, and does not contain parabens, l-arginine, or glycerin.



This can be used before intercourse, the use of toys, manual sex/fingering, masturbation, and even oral sex. To use, simply apply a few drops to your intimate areas. I have a pretty sensitive clit, so I used three small drops when I applied it, though more may create a stronger sensation. I would not suggest applying this anally.

The ingredients are:
Oley Alcohol, Zanthoxylum Bungeanum (Prickly Ash Bark), Olea Europaea (olive) Fruit Oil, Eclipta Prostrata Extract, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Moringo Pterygosperma Seed OIl, Melia Azadirachta Extract, Amino Esers 1, Eclipta Prostrate Extract, Lawsonia Inermis Extract, Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract, Corallina Officinalis Extract.

This serum is a very light oil, similar to sunflower or safflower oil. It's very slick and not at all sticky, and it absorbs into the skin nicely. It's very thin and somewhat runny, and will stain if it gets on fabric, so be very careful when applying. It comes out of the tiny squeeze bottle easily, so a gentle pinch of the bottle is all you will need to get out the right amount. To make it easier to control, when I was applying this to my partner, I squeezed out the the drops onto my finger and then rubbed them onto her clit.

If you get it in your mouth like I did, there's not really much of a taste, though it did make my mouth tingle similar to a tooth numbing gel (which is interesting, since I didn't feel much tingling in my nether region, but I'll get to that in the next section). This product has a very distinct smell, though it is not unpleasant. It smells very earthy and vaguely of patchouli and pine. The scent is somewhat strong, but I didn't find it overpowering. I could smell myself after I applied the serum, but it wasn't enough to be distracting or give me a headache. Your mileage may vary, however, especially if you are sensitive to scents, have a profound distaste for hippies, or have had a traumatic Christmas tree experience. Who knows, you might even like the scent and decide to wear it as perfume if it doesn't work out as an arousal product for you.

The instructions say the product will take effect in 3-5 minutes, and in both my case and my partner's it took about 5 minutes. In terms of tingling, neither my partner nor I really felt very much. The serum has a cooling effect at first, which lasted for about 5 minutes, and then it changed to a warming sensation much like a warming lubricant. The packaging says the product will last for up to 45 minutes. For us, it lasted a respectable 30 minutes or so.

Unwrapping this product kind of felt like that joke people sometimes play at Christmas, where there's a big box with a bunch of gradually smaller boxes inside each other until you get down to the smallest box, which is holding like a slap bracelet. Seriously, there is a ton of packaging for this little bottle. On the bright side, it keeps the serum bottle well-protected, and the boxes are recyclable. There's an outer black sleeve with the brand name and an inner red box that opens to hold the serum bottle. There's .17 ounces (5 ml) in the included bottle.

This product cools, warms, and increases sensation. How sensitive you are already may determine whether these special features will feel pleasant to you or not, and whether the 12 Volt is the appropriate strength for you.

As one half of a lesbian couple, I had the fortunate opportunity to try this out on two clits instead of just one. My partner bravely accepted the challenge of trying out this product, knowing that she doesn't like warming products. I didn't care a whole lot for the cooling, though it was luckily short-lived. I thought the warming felt great--warm, but not hot, and not too intense. My partner hated both sensations--both the cooling and the warming--and refuses to use this product ever again. She felt mostly cooling and found it especially uncomfortable when used internally. She thought it heightened sensations in a bad way, making anything penetrative painful. My partner does not like warming products in general, and I love them, so this could be the major difference in whether you'd enjoy this product or not.
