More than your souffle will rise.

Overall, I love the Kama Sutra Body Souffle - this product is smooth and creamy, leaves no oily residue, and has a light, sweet taste on the skin. I'll be using it as my primary moisturizer from now on.

Use

This body souffle is marketed as 'designed for sensual massage', and that's exactly what we bought it for, but I personally will be using it as a new moisturizer from now on. This is a product that can be used by anyone, anywhere - the packaging is discreet enough to where you could probably get away with having this sitting out in your bathroom, as well.

front

I'm reviewing the 'French Vanilla' flavor/scent this time, but after trying it a few times, I'm definitely going to be buying the other varieties. My partner is big on edible products, while I'm more than skeptical on the subject, but we both enjoyed this product extensively. This product is great for a quick backrub or a long, hot night, and the moisturizers will leave you feeling fresh afterwards, not slimy.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Let me just throw out there that I am generally not a lotion person — if I even look at lotion crooked, it leaves me feeling oily and decidedly un-sexy.

I do not have this problem with Kama Sutra Body Souffle. I went into this product ready to hate it, but it's actually my favorite of the edible creams we've bought.

frontopen

This is a moderately thick cream — thick enough to not be runny, but thin enough to be dabbed out with a little shake or two. It is roughly the consistency of yogurt, if I had to compare it to anything.

topopen

This product rubs in completely in about 5-10 minutes, with no oily residue, and leaves you feeling fresh and smelling sweet.

Taste / Aroma

The initial aroma of the cream, I'll admit, is not overtly appetizing. It does have a distinct vanilla scent, but it actually smells strongly of yogurt. Odd, but that's what I got from it on first impression — the experience of vanilla yogurt, all over my body. Sexy or no? You decide.

Once rubbed into the skin, however, the smell is actually very subtle and nice, and the faint sweet taste lingers for quite a while — forty-five minutes later, and I can still taste it.

Something I would like to point out is that I don't recommend tasting this right out of the jar, or as soon as you slather it on. It has a strange 'cool' aftertaste that smacks of chemicals. But hey, no product is perfect. It's not actually food after all, and for good reason.

Performance

I was very impressed with this product. The product takes about 5-10 minutes to fully absorb into the skin, and if you're tired of being delicious (you won't be), water and soap completely eliminate the scent and taste from your skin. You do not have to wash this product off — it's wonderful as a moisturizer by itself.

I wasn't impressed with the scent overall, but some things must be sacrificed to improve the taste, I suppose — it was not a deal breaker at all.

Packaging

The packaging was very nice, made of high quality plastic and design. I'm fond of the labeling, as it's subtle enough to pass as just a higher-end moisturizer, unless you read the back.

back

It's about half a pound at 7.5 ounces of product, and you'll get plenty of uses from it, unless you end up really liking it. The ingredients are clearly listed on the bottom as well (along with product translations in French, Spanish, and German) which is a plus if you have allergies or are vegan/vegetarian.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Very informative packaging
    • Would make a nice gift
