Colt slick lubricant by Cal Exotics - review by Ryuson

This is a good basic, all around lube. It is waterbased, which I prefer because I have quite a few silicone toys and I like to have something that I can grab and not have to worry about. The only downside (and an upside occasionally) is that it is water soluble. This means that it will wash easily off of clothes, yourself, and whatever else it got on but that it is useless in the shower!

Lube is one of those things that everyone needs, and this does the job. It can be used with toys, masturbatory sleeves for men, your hands, inside condoms to give them a more realistic feel, or just if you want a bit more slickness in your life.

As a basic lube, there are a few possible allergy concerns. It contains glycerin and methylparaben, which are both pretty common allergens. I would suggest that you test this on a soft tissue like the inside of your elbow before use, just to make sure you aren't allergic! Here is the full list of ingredients:

Deionized water , glycerin, PEG-8, Aloe Vera Extract, Carbomer 941, Carboxymethylcellulose Tetra Sodium EDTA, , Methylparaben, DMDM Hydantoin

This lube is fairly runny, only a bit thicker than water. This means that while it is easy to pour out of the bottle, it might run off of your hand if you have a lot. This makes it feel more natural, something that is more characteristic of waterbased lubes, but it also means that it might not work so well for anal.

I've found that this lubricant stays in place fairly well. As long as you don't get a too much on yourself or the toy you're using, it won;t drip but will still provide you with a nice glide. When it does dry out a bit, it gets slightly sticky. When fully dry it isn't sticky at all, but does leave a film that can be reactivated by adding more water.

Overall, it provides a nice, thin cote for whatever purpose you want. It feels more natural than silicone lubes, but it also is a bit runny.

The Colt Slick lubricant has no scent at all, wet or dry. I like this because it isn't distracting, and in my experience not many scents continue to smell nice when mixed with feminine juices. I did taste this however, and all I have to say is that it isn't pleasant. It's a bit of a bitter flavor, with a grossly sweet aftertaste.

Because of this as well as the iffy ingredients, I would NOT recommend this for oral sex. There are plenty more lubes on Eden that are designed to taste like various yummy things for you to be ingesting this stuff!

This product lasted for a pretty long time considering that it is water based. I was able to use it for around 15 minutes without it starting to get tacky, and when it does start to dry out you can simply add more water. I found that especially on glass toys this lasted quite long enough for me.

After use, I simply wiped myself off with a towel and tossed the the towel in the wash. It didn't stain the towel, and it also came off any clothes it got on. This is always a major plus for me! It comes off of toys and hands with soap and water. I use an antibacterial toy cleaner, but that's not because I needed the help with the lube, but because I'm paranoid about bacteria.

I had no adverse reactions to any of the ingredients, but I also have used other lubes of a similar makeup and had no trouble. The problem that I've read with glycerin in lubricants is that when they do expire, they are not 'maybe kinda still useable.' Toss them!

Again, just be aware of any allergese you have and you should be fine!

I really enjoy this lube because I feel it is great for both men and women. While men might not want something called "Sliquid all natural sea splash fun!" on their nightstand, "Colt Slick Lubricant" sounds masculine, and almost like it's something used to oil the various moving parts in a fire arm.

As a woman, I really don't care about the bottle and am looking for something that is a good value and a good product. The top is one where you press down on one side and a tab pops up on the other side. The bottle is made of smooth plastic, and it makes it easy to dispense lube and also easy to wipe down if you end up getting the product on it.

Now for the one thing that makes this go above and beyond my expectations.
Normally when you receive a liquid product, it comes with a wimpy aluminum seal that you peel off and toss; not Colt lube! This has a small, plastic, red stopper that you can use as many times as you want. I keep it in whenever I store it, and only take it off for easy dispensing when I want to use the lube. This means that you will never end up with lube all over your toybox/suitcase/overnighter/bathroom! Way to go California Exotics; You made me very happy.

This lube is a good, basic staple for a toybox. While it tastes really bad and is a bit watery, it won't stain anything and is very easy to clean up. The reason that I am giving this a five out of five stars is because of the awesome bottle and the awesome value! I got the smallest bottle, 9 Fl oz, and it is HUGE! And it was only $11! Wow!

I won't need to buy lube for a long while, and the fact that I won't have it leaking will only add to the longevity of it. Male or female, if you're using silicone anything this is the way to go!
